I have lived in the AFECC Gloria Hotel in Maputo for nearly a month, and I would like to share my experience. The Chinese name of this hotel is also called Anhui Foreign Economic Kailai Hotel. It is a hotel with a huge scope, including the main building of the hotel. There is Gloria Mall next to the main door without leaving the door, a Chinese supermarket on the first floor, and a cinema on the third floor. The highlight of the hotel is that all rooms face the beach. There is a road outside the hotel gate that leads to the beach, and all rooms have sea views. - There is a red wine and cigar bar on the first floor, which can entertain VIP customers, and the wine is expensive. The G floor is a western restaurant, a lobby cafe, and breakfast is served on the G floor. First of all, I want to say that the location of the hotel is very convenient. It is located in the city center, with many shopping and dining places nearby, which is very suitable for travelers. In addition, the hotel also provides free pick-up and drop-off services, which is very convenient for travelers who do not rent a car. The first floor is a Chinese restaurant with rich dishes. There is a barrier to choice every time you order. People with a small appetite are advised to order the daily special set meal. Every dish ordered is huge. Basically, you can't eat anything with two dishes. The fried rice and noodles are also the size of a soup bowl, which can be shared by two to three people. The second floor is a gym, swimming pool and spa. The spa hardware is very high, but because there are few masters, I have only seen 2 people. It is recommended to make an appointment in advance. Secondly, the hotel room is very clean and comfortable. The bed is very soft and makes people feel very relaxed. The bathroom is also very clean, equipped with a bathtub, dry and wet separation. The toiletries are relatively complete, with a comb and toothbrush, but no cotton swabs, and a sewing kit. The decoration belongs to the traditional domestic hotel decoration, Chinese style, the bed is huge, 2 meters, and 3 pillows are placed side by side. The pillows are high. The decoration is early and warm, without odor, but because it is by the sea, there will be some flying insects. It will be much better if the gauze curtains are drawn. There will be no harassment when the hotel central air conditioning is turned on. The hotel room is equipped with a balcony as standard. The balcony is 3-4 square meters, which is large. You can overlook Maputo Bay and watch the high and low tides every day. The sea breeze and the sound of the tide make it easy to fall asleep. Finally, I was impressed by the service of the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They always keep smiling and try their best to meet the needs of guests. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience of staying here. I heard from the locals that this hotel is located in the whole of Maputo and its facilities are very suitable for Chinese tourists. The only downside is that if you book late, the price will exceed a thousand yuan per day. It is highly recommended to travelers who are looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

The service is extremely friendly and strives to please the customer, from reception to other areas (swimming pool, gardens, bar, restaurant, etc.). As for the rooms, if you have the opportunity, stay in a room with a sea view. They are spacious, with large balconies and have all the amenities that allow for a comfortable stay. Impeccably clean, good mattress, pillows, bathrobes and perfectly working minibar. The decoration of the rooms, as indeed of the entire hotel, is very pleasant, however, care must be taken not to neglect its modernization/maintenance with regard to small details (walls, shower glass, wood, etc.) . The breakfast is one of the most complete and quality (both in terms of offering, products and service) that we have experienced in Africa and, even, compared to many 5* European hotels. Good location within the city of Maputo, the hotel restaurant has a good menu, and there are several restaurants in the area with very good options.

Hotel is well located. Check-in is easy and efficient with all the details and amenities explained. Breakfast is scrumptious and service is great. I was disappointed with the fact that you do not have access to an iron and laundry service only opens at 7am. Be prepared to attend meetings with wrinkled clothing if you arrive at night. Everything else checks the right boxes and staff are friendly and respectful.

Unfortunately the booking through Trip.com wasn't working when I arrived the hotel. Please send the money back, because I had to pay again for the stay at Montebelo Girassol Maputo Hotel.

The hotel is 8 kilometers from the airport ✈️, 1.5 kilometers from the Maputo train station. 500 meters from the seaside, you can see the sea on the hotel balcony. There is a good Japanese restaurant on foot 450 meters away. Try it. 1200 Mo coin. Eat sushi casually.
