Green Springs Inn

A miserable experience We arrived about 7 pm after a 17 mile drive (10 miles of it on a very winding road) to find the office locked up and the promised (by management) restaurant closed and no instructions on how to access our reserved room. When we called the "if you need help" phone number posted on the office door, we received a recording asking for our number and promising to return the call within 24 hours! Talking with others, we learned this is a common occurrence. We finally called another number listed in our e-mail correspondence and got instructions on how to get into our room, where we had a dinner of crackers and pistachios from our car. A miserable experience we will not ever repeat there.

The peace and tranquility of the woods. I enjoyed the cabins had comfortable distance between each other. The fire place was amazing as well as the tub! Love that I could control my own tub temperature. It was just a nice place to unwind and read a good book! Pet friendly is a huge plus as well! Thanks for the great stay! Excited for the restaurant to open back up as well!

My mistake Proud owner of a small parcel not far from GS, I needed a place to stay while I talked with developers, solar providers, and the like. The people at GS are determined to make you comfortable and they succeeded with me. I had messed up some of the booking; the people in the cafe sat me down with large cup of fresh hot coffee while the mess I'd made was straightened out...the only regret was that I still had half-a-cup of great coffee when I was shown to my room. And the room was so lovely, the bed so comfortable, and everything so fresh and clean that I can't remember a more peaceful and satisfying night.

Sleeping with the evergreens I totally loved being among the evergreens! Staying here was like being in a super comfy tree house. It's quiet and peaceful.

gorgeous surroundings, the cabin was complete, coffee maker, mini kitchen, games to play. Extra wood for the wood stove right next to the cabin. We really enjoyed our stay though I think we’ll plan to come back when it’s warmer to use the hot tub!

We are locals who live in Ashland. We have been coming to the Greensprings cabins for years through several owner of the place. ~ We always rent the same cabin. We just spent 4 days up here with severe winter conditions. It was lovely because we knew what to expect. We knew with the snow coming and alerts that we could possibly get snowed in with road closures. It happened after we arrived. We brought plenty of food for the 4 days. There is no restaurant on site. There is no doordash up here. The closest restaurants or grocery stores are 21 miles down in Ashland town. The road is curvy and steep. Keep in mind if you have never been here before. Check in during daylight hours in the winter. No one is here to greet you. Follow the instructions emailed to you from the reservation people. Copy the information because you may not have reception. The cabins are heated with a wood stove only..There are wall heaters that take a little edge off the chill..There is plenty of wood for your fire,and the housekeeping staff can bring you more kindling, if you can get ahold of them. The hot tub is on demand hot water and plenty of it. The tub takes about an hour or so to fill. The fridge is small, but in the winter you can place your perishables outside in screened in porch as long as you have a cooler. If the cabin has been empty in the winter,it will take 24 hours to heat...This was our experience... Scott is the onsite manager who plows the roads 2x a day.... We love it up here... It is quiet and peaceful.. I have never rented a lodge room so I do not know what they are like. The kitchen in the cabin has a stove and oven running on propane. There is a microwave as well. The only food provided is coffee and tea and prepackaged 1/2 and 1/2. The water out of the tap is pure spring water...If you come prepared during winter snow season, you will have a great time. I wish I had brought my snowshoes...Lot's of great hikes....
