Our stay at Kili Seasons was, unfortunately, the absolute worst experience of our entire trip to Tanzania. We deeply regret choosing this lodge and strongly advise others to look elsewhere if you want to enjoy your holiday. Isolated Location & Terrible Access The lodge's location is far and incredibly isolated, making it inconvenient. Upon arrival at the "VIP Villas," we found no guard to open the gates and were forced to wait over 30 minutes just to be let in. This immediately set a negative tone. Lack of Accessibility & Unhelpful Staff Even within the lodge, the villas are quite a distance from the main areas. Despite having people with disabilities in our group, golf carts were only provided for a limited time, and we had to argue and beg to get access, which was incredibly difficult and frustrating for our group. Poor Amenities & Overpriced Services The amenities and service absolutely did not justify the high prices charged, especially compared to other lodges we stayed at. We had no hot water on the first night, which is unacceptable. Breakfast was a huge disappointment – cold food, and the saddest-looking avocado toast. They also charge extra for basic coffee like cappuccinos and lattes. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi was terrible, and there was no cell network, leaving us with no way to reach reception by phone when we needed assistance. Disappointing Service & Unprofessionalism The staff's lack of initiative was also evident. After an event, we had accidentally left a couple of trays in the kitchen. Instead of looking for them, the staff just stood around while we waited. We eventually got tired of waiting and asked if we could look ourselves, only to find them stuffed in a back storeroom. This demonstrates a clear lack of attention and service. Abusive Owner - A Deal Breaker The most disturbing incident, however, involved the owner himself. We witnessed him abusing a couple of drivers over parking, screaming at them in a truly disgraceful manner. He was clearly drunk and belligerent. No one should speak to another human being that way, especially someone running a hospitality business. This individual is the most obnoxious and rude person, and it's clear he has no idea how to run a hospitality establishment. Final Verdict: Do Not Stay Here Based on our terrible experience with the location, accessibility issues, poor amenities, overpriced services, unhelpful staff, and especially the owner's appalling behavior, we strongly advise against staying at Kili Seasons. Save yourself the stress and disappointment and choose a different lodge for your holiday. If I could give it a 0 rating, I would.
