THE GOOD POINTS The hotel is in a great position if you are taking a river boat cruise. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the boat and a 5 minute walk from the train station. It is also an easy walk to all you need to see in Arles. We were in room 109 which was lovely and had a long balcony overlooking the street. The room was sound proofed so there was no street noise at night despite being on a street with lots of restaurants. The air con was great for the 30 degree temperature outside. Breakfast was fine with all you would expect for a small 3 star hotel. You can drop your cases at the hotel and they will text you when your room is ready. THE NOT SO GOOD POINTS Let me start by saying if you are in the service industry a smile goes a long way! The staff at this hotel were not at all friendly and in fact they were bordering on rude. There are lots of signs telling you of things you should NOT do which does not give a good impression. There was no one to tick us off the list at breakfast so after a few minutes of waiting I went to the front desk. The man at the front desk was very grumpy and followed me the short way to the breakfast room By this time the equally grumpy breakfast lady had returned! She didn't explain anything about the breakfast BUT that's OK as there were many signs telling you what to NOT do. At check out (11am) a bell sounds in your room but be aware once that time passes the room card is cancelled. We left as the bell rang and then had to wait (not a problem) to check out. I needed the toilet and looked for one to use but couldn't see one. I went back to the room to use the toilet and the card key wasn't working. I returned to the front desk where the man was still checking out those in front of us. I told the lady that I needed the toilet but my room card wasn't working. She checked her phone and said that it was because it was after check out time. She went to the computer so I moved around just next to the fridge with drinks, only to be rudely told to move away!! Maybe they were all having another bad day. Again I would like to say that the hotel itself was good but the staff definitely have a lot to learn about how to deal with people.

The hotel is in a very convenient position couple of minutes from the train station and just within the old walls of the old city. At check in, one of the staff had decent english so explained what was where in the old town and some recommendations. Outside of the hotel there are road works going on but room double glazed which made the soundproofing excellent. The only issue was the room was very hot/stuffy. Helpful to have a mini- fridge in room but it heats up the cupboard and the room. Everything within the old town is easily accessible as mostly pedestrianised and impossible to get lost. If you have got to the river, the road or the walls turn around! The hotel was good value and comfortable. I would not stay here for more than 3 or 4 days, but you only need a couple of days to see Arles so ideal for a brief visit. There are loads of places to eat nearby plus variety of small shops and a Monoprix on the roundabout. There was also a large outdoor market on the Wednesday we were there with loads of stalls selling everything from mattresses to bananas!
