"Disappointing Experience 🫣
I had a rather unpleasant stay at *Appartamenti Rosa Dei Venti* in Trapani.
First of all, the parking situation is very misleading. It's advertised as “free parking near the property,” but in reality, you’ll be given a business card upon arrival with the name of a parking lot located 3 km away in an industrial area beyond the port. They do offer a free shuttle to and from the parking lot, but be prepared to wait. Even if you prearrange your pick-up time, you'll likely have to call and ask “Where are you?” when the time comes.
As for the apartment itself — unfortunately, it was far from cozy. The building hardly gets any sunlight, so the space feels dark and chilly. I was freezing at night under a very thin blanket. The bathroom window opens into the shared stairwell, so you can hear people coming in and out, and even sounds from neighboring bathrooms — not exactly pleasant.
The location is central, but that also means a lot of street noise. There’s a café just below the windows. I was lucky it was a weekday and they closed around 11 PM — but not without the clatter of dumpsters and shutters being slammed. Conversations from people downstairs are easily heard inside the room.
To be fair, the apartment was clean, which is probably the only positive I can mention.
In summary, if you're staying in Trapani for just a day or two, I’d recommend booking a hotel instead — something more welcoming and better managed. And unless you're traveling without a car and plan to spend all your time in the city center, this place may not be the best option. For me, it was an overall disappointing experience."
