BE Bold Hostel

One of the best hostel stays I’ve ever had — I’d go back in a heartbeat. Be Bold Hostel truly lives up to its name. The space is clean, cozy, and social in the best way. But what really made it special were the people, both fellow travelers and the amazing staff. As someone navigating Turkey with a bit of a language barrier, I felt so supported. Everyone was super helpful when it came to figuring out places to visit and how to survive the beautiful chaos that is Turkish public transport. Special shout-out to Urvi (an absolute gem!) who patiently helped me through it all, from tramp spotting to explaining random questions I kept asking . They even recommended an incredible hamam experience that I probably wouldn’t have found on my own! It’s one of those places where you walk in as a guest and leave feeling like family. 10/10 would Be Bold again and again, and again.

Worst experience ever First of all, if you are considering staying here and checking the reviews, keep in mind that they offer a 10% discount in exchange for a high-rated review, so decide for yourself about its objectivity. **IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SHOUTED AT INSULTED BY A HOUSEKEEPING STAFF MEMBER EARLY IN THE MORNING, DON’T STAY HERE!** However, on the morning I was awakened by loud music. The housekeeping staff had turned the music up to full volume on her phone, placed it in front of my door, and was cleaning a room at the end of the corridor. My friend had arrived at the hotel at 4 AM, and we wanted to rest. When I warned her, she began shouting at me rudely, saying things like, "You can't tell me what music to listen to, who do you think you are, I don't have to ask you what to do, it's too late to be sleeping." She aggressively scolded me in front of my friend. Even after I closed the door and went back to my room, she continued to insult and shout at me. I have stayed in and worked at many hotels, and I am still working in this industry, so I know the procedures very well. This behavior is completely unacceptable. I did not pay for a staff member to shout at and scold me in the morning. I went to the reception to speak with a manager, but there was none. Only the receptionist listened to me, but nothing was done. No one apologized for this gross disrespect or followed up with me. It was the worst accommodation experience I've ever had.
