Selected this hospital due to the fact it was close to the U of M hospital, and we had an early appointment. Check in with Tyler was fast and easy. The valet person, Parker, was great. He took care of making sure our car ready to go at 7:00 am the next day. However, things went downhill from there. Fan in bathroom did not work, light by bed was falling apart, mold on some of the grouting in bathroom, and it took forever (a very long time) to get hot water to the shower. In addition, the ice bin on our floor was out of service. For $300 I expected more but got less.

So I have arrived to hotel and asked politely to have a quiet room. Receptionist tells me the room should be quiet. Sadly the room is in the front of venting noisy machine ! I have asked to change as I need to sleep! So there is no room available while personnel and manager were inflexible to refund ! It was not very correct ! Freddy only money count without correct service! Very sad !

The room was very nice! It had a mini bar with a refrigerator. The bed was comfortable. The valet service was excellent. We just called down to the front desk a few minutes before we wanted to leave and the car was out front. The Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. There were eggs, bagels and cereal.

Kind and helpful staff, who were all very accommodating and thoughtful. The hotel and rooms very clean, including an updated bathroom, the lobby is nice, and the free continental breakfast was what you need to start the day. And if you want to be close to U Michigan’s Central Campus, this is the perfect spot.

There are good and bad things about the Bell Tower Hotel. First, the hotel was understaffed and the staff that were working were not all that friendly. There was a "Hiring" sign at the front door so hopefully that will soon change. Room: one of the bed lights did not have a turn-on knob, there was some problem with the heating/cooling system. While heating the room, the air conditioner would kick on for a few minutes. It also took forever to get hot water in the sink and shower. We liked the art deco furniture in the room and the bed was very comfortable. Food: breakfast was very similar to a Holiday Inn which means not very good. The hotel is in a very good location if you want to be right on campus. There is a $25 valet parking fee.

I would rate my recent stay at this hotel as "deeply over-rated." The entire experience, save the very convenient location, was very disappointing, particularly since I paid over $500 a night on a non-football weekend in Ann Arbor. When we checked in on Friday night we were met by a slightly bewildered clerk who needed to "check with his supervisor" whether our room was ready--at 7:00 PM. Unable to locate his boss, he sent us upstairs to our room to find that while it had in fact been prepared, it seemed to be a converted utility room or large closet outfitted with a tiny window. The "view" was a blank wall, a ventilation shaft, and a sliver of daylight reflecting off the graffiti-covered backside of some nearby building. At least it was private. The room itself was tiny, dark, lacked a refrigerator, had scant electrical outlets, spotty internet, and the bathroom exhaust fan was broken. We were clearly so far from the tank that the shower had to run for several minutes for hot water to arrive. Our "queen-sized" bed was that in name only, but at least it fit the room. Our "spa towels" were closer to Embassy Suites quality. Breakfast was available in a bizarrely decorated bright-white room that looked like a scene from a Stanley Kubrick space film, wildly out of character from the rest of the building. The breakfast was more Embassy Suites--shrink-wrapped pastries, ancient scrambled eggs, a weird pancake robot that dispensed inedible rubbery fare, and a guy Facetiming his wife at full volume at 7:45 in the morning. You can't beat the location of this place if you need to be on campus, as I did. And breakfast was "hot," but a pretty low bar. As for "luxury accomodation" I would look elsewhere. We will not be returning.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location with absolutely wonderful caring staff. All my needs were very professionally attended to and I especially want to give kudos to the night manager Delia for helping me through one particularly stressful experience. I highly recommend the Bell Tower Hotel, its luxurious, beautiful, warm and welcoming. Truly a home away from home.

Be warned that this hotel is not adequate for older adults. In almost every room, there is a large step up to the bathroom which poses a significant fall risk, especially at night. Moreover, the bathrooms are tiny so a fall would be catastrophic. The ADA room doesn’t have a step but we would never have known to request this as we are not disabled and have never needed any accommodations. There is a huge construction project on the same block and there is noise on and off all night long. The windows are single pane so they do not obscure the noise at all. No exaggeration, huge construction sounds dumping materials, backing up/beeping huge machines, cranes, the whole shebang, even on Saturday and Sunday night. Breakfast is not good. The location is very convenient. The beds were comfortable. The staff tried hard to deal with a two day power outage that wasn’t their fault. In all, very dated small rooms, extremely loud with old windows that do nothing to absorb the noise, and dangerous step up to the bathroom that would be a death trap for an older person. Also takes a while for water to get hot so plan accordingly.

Upon arrival apples and water. Classic but dated. Given a actual key to the room; no updated key pass or room entry. Rooms are small. Breakfast was free but terrible, eggs not good, dry turkey sausage, pork sausage. Breakfast room nice modern. Panera bread is a few steps away. Rooms overpriced at $300 plus a night. Hotel is located steps from campus, shopping, Walgreens, cvs, theater, state street, ice cream shops, restaurants. Location is great. Service was pleasant and prompt.
