Chelsea Inn Hotel

Do not choice this Hotel. As per others reviews, the room is very dirty and not clean. I regret booking without checking the reviews. Towel is not set your room but they will bring it you but dirty. Needless to say, the toilets are the worst. There are some suspicious people who seem to have used *****. If you want to experience the unknown, you can stay, but it's risky and there's no benefit. I was so scared and dirty that I thought about sleeping in my car instead of in my bed, but there were some suspicious people around the hotel, so I held back and stayed in my room. Do not choice the hotel if you want safety.

While parking, I noticed a woman going through what looked like drug withdrawals at the front and another rummaging through the trash in the back. Too bad I can't upload the video of the woman rocking back and forth, sitting directly in front of the front door. Nonetheless, I got my bags out of the car and tried to get into the building, but the woman was blocking the way and started mumbling at me. The door was locked, so I tried to take another entrance that was also locked. There were signs saying that they take NO responsibility for car theft or vandalism. Thats when my instincts kicked in to GTFO of there.

This place was a disaster that the quality of looked nothing like the picture in the listing. There were broken windows, unprofessional hand scribbled notes on the door, homeless bums around the area and by the door; which was locked so we couldn't get in and there was no one inside to let us in either. The area in general felt VERY unsafe! This "hotel" stole my money. We had to go find a hotel elsewhere.

PLEASE AVOID!!! I CANNOT understate the HORRIFIC nature of my check-in. I have NEVER felt so close to being physically ASSAULTED by the men there at/during check-in. Truly, the ANC Police Dept should have been present, perhaps investigate, as well as ANY governing agency holding authority over hotels in ANC. NOBODY at the desk upon arrival...so 3 call-outs to anyone went un-answered. There is a door marked "Security" close to the front desk, which was open about 6 inches or so. I called repeatedly into the room and barely touched it as I called out for ANYONE to check me in. I immediately smelled and witnessed EVERYONE in the room smoking pot--and it appeared that there was drug paraph. both in the bed and on a small table easily within view. Within seconds, I was accosted by THREE males PHYSICALLY THREATENING me for touching the door that had exposed EVERYONE inside doing *****! Thank God, there was a lone female that "processed" the check-in as quickly as possible and tried to talk the males "down" that were threatening me. She required NO ID as long as I kept me my shut and tried over & over to get the men in the place to stop cussing at me, and most espec. to stop THREATENING me for "opening the door" to their drug use. I have NEVER been soooooo scared for my personal safety at ANY lodging anywhere IN THE WORLD that I've traveled. There is soooooo much more detail, but these reviews aren't equipped for what truly amounts to a statement that should be given to the Police.

Do not stay here This is not a safe area, do not stay here. The buzzer system doesn't allow you to walk in, so you have to wait outside with less than desirable company. When you walk in, there is smokey incense burning to try to cover up the smell. In the first room, the single lane window with no screen was locked open with a dingey cloth hanging over it. The second room I changed into, was pretty much the same. Stains were everywhere on the carpet, holes in the spring boards, the pillow cases were stained with makeup, and when I asked for new ones they brought me up 2 "new" pillowcases that were also stained with makeup. The towel was dirty, there was no soap in the bathroom to wash your hands and almost no toilet paper to use when you try to use the broken toilet that wouldn't flush. There were nail clippings on the bed and blood stains on the floor. People shouting in the hallway and the sound of cars and people outside provides a white noise to help you sleep....despite it, the staff were nice and did try to help. All and all AVOID THIS PLACE!
