SpringHill Suites Anchorage Midtown

Had a great stay. Staff was very acommodating and made sure I had a quiet room as per my request. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

People at the front are very accommodating. location are very accessible to any restaurants and groceries.

The hotel is rundown and in serious need of updating. I make this comment because the carpet in the hallway and room was stained and apparently can’t be cleaned. Why else would the management allow the hotel be in this shape? Don’t know who handles the laundry service, but they don’t care enough to replace thread bare towels. Not a good impression.

We used this hotel as a base to explore Alaska and took several overnights away from Anchorage. Thus stayed in three rooms at different times. The good: staff we met were all very pleasant and nice. Hotel was kind enough to store our excess luggage when we left for an overnight excursion. The breakfast was pretty good for a SpringHill Suites. Close to shopping- Wal-mart, REI, and others. The bad: the rooms are tired; “recent renovations” is clearly a description from at least five years ago; another renovation is needed. Guest room bureau drawers won’t stay closed. Not enough light even in the rooms where all the lights work. Living area overhead light fixture doesn’t work. No hooks in bathroom. Carpets throughout the hotel are filthy and stained. Tub in one room was rust stained. Baseboard and wallpaper peeling off the walls. A/C in one ground floor room did not work, and it does get hot in Anchorage. Would you leave a ground floor hotel room window open all night? Laminate top of night table is bubbling…I could go on. This hotel has had a hard life. Physically, this is one of the worst Marriott affiliates I’ve stayed at. It’s a pity because the staff is trying very hard.
