I am a Diamond Member with Hilton Honors and try to stay at Hiltons for all my travels. I am surprised this hotel carries the Hilton name. It is NOT on brand. 1. I called the hotel 3 times. First two times I was on hold for over 7mins each time, finally the 3rd time they said, ”Can I place you on hold” I said ”No, I can not hold”. I talked to Patrick and I indicated from reviews that I would like to have an odd room number because of the train and I needed a refrigerator. He said he would make a note of it. When I arrived at 2:15am, no note, no nothing. Very dissappoined. 2. There was no refrigerator and I was put on a waitlist. Two days and nothing. 3. Room was dirty. Housekeeping left blue gloves and wipes on the floor. I was thankful that I carry my own Lysol wipes and cleaned entire room. (I had to change rooms and both were this way) 4. I had an ”even” number room so I heard the train all hours of day and night. Even though I had ear plugs, you still hear the train. 5. Outlet in bathroom did not work. Had to blow dry hair next to bed. 6. At 4:30am, I had to ask housekeeping or Hilton employees to please be quiet because people are trying to sleep. This hotel is awful. Needs attention. Also, no acknowledgment from front desk regarding my Diamond Status. A simple ”Thank you” goes a long way.

The most iconic hotel in Anchorage, I had to stay even if I could only afford one night. Everything was good, the room was a bit small. Definitely paying big city prices for little old Alaska, which can feel like price gouging.

We came here as a start to our longer Alaska trip. There were pros and cons on both ends so was hard to finalize a rating. But I’ll just list them out here: Pros: - Location was fantastic - Right next to a **** dispensary - Spacious rooms - Easy control over AC/Heat - Good blackout curtains - Staff was very nice Cons: - Although cheaper than other hotels in the area, still felt like the nightly rate was way too high for what it was (after tax, we paid ~$350 for the first night and ~$380 for the second night) - Breakfast orders took forever every morning, and also taste-wise it was just ok - Elevator was crazy slow (despite only being 3 floors) and stairs were on the far ends of the building so it was annoying to get to - Elevator also stalled at one point and I was positive we were either stuck or gonna fall, shortly after another couple had an even scarier experience and they had to close it entirely - No dining menu in rooms (or online) only way to know breakfast or dinner options was by going downstairs and reading their menu - Beds were just ok. I didn’t sleep well but could have been me adjusting to new time zone

We liked how the room was clean and the pool smelled like chlorine and was clean unlike other hotels we stayed at. But the front desk clerk was very rude. I tried to check in a couple mins early and she only said I don’t see your name anywhere and pretty much only left me an option to leave and come back later. So instead of being friendly she was opposite and made me feel not wanted there. But we stayed anyway. And the breakfast really sucked! COVID made them feel like they can treat people however they want.

Perfectly fine location and hotel, with pleasant rooms and attentive staff. Breakfast is better than many competitors and the hotel furnishings and vibe are upscale. Not quite as nice in my experience as the Hyatt House just down the block. If they were equally priced, I would choose the Hyatt House for its bigger rooms, better layout and smaller property. There is a very nice restaurant across the street (Bear Paw), as well as a Starbucks. The airport is 10 minutes away, as is downtown. Rooms are good, just not very big. All needed amenities are present, including a shuttle.

Pros: Staff was pleasant and accommodating Property lobby and common areas were kept very clean Like Home 2 room layout with kitchen and bath properly located Cons: Room in need of complete update, sofa was disgusting, bathroom door was damaged, mattress in need of replacement. Am Hilton diamond member, , and like Home2 layouts, but am finding many Home2 properties are not aging well.

I usually have a peaceful, enjoyable stay when I stay here, but this time is wasn’t so peaceful. There was a kids birthday party or something going on where there were a lot of rambunctious kids running up and down the hallway, making all this noise during my stay. Not enjoyable at all.

Outstanding
NnwobDeal's Bed & Breakfast was a wonderful place to stay in Anchorage. I've seen the b&b described as ” staying at grandmas house”; it is and better. So warm and cozy, the B&B was a welcome home at the end of a long plane flight. The owners accommodated our late arrival and departure without issue. The room was big, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom had a tremendous tub and separate shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and of course hand cooked with care and to our liking. The owners are lovely people. Without hesitation, Deal's is highly recommended.
GGuest UserWe rented a 2-room suite for family travel as our landing spot each day after our adventures. The master bedroom does not have its own private bathroom. The 2nd bedroom with 2 Queen beds has its own bathroom. The HVAC system in our particular room only had 1 temperature sensor for the entire suite which was located in the 2nd bedroom. This was an issue with comfort at times. The walls and floors are extremely thin as we could hear other guest room conversations from adjacent rooms and rooms above ours as well as toilet usage and even curtains being opened in the morning. There was extremely loud shouting from the street as two homeless gents were fighting with each other for hours in the middle of the night - that was not a one-time occurrence. There is also significant noise due to road traffic from both Benson Blvd and Seward Highway - that didn't bother us too much but it may bother people that are not used to it. There was significant parking and the location is extremely close to Seward Highway which made our travels very convenient. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was reasonably clean. The hotel had a very nice breakfast with standard buffet items like eggs, bacon, bagels, biscuits and gravy, cereals, and a pancake station. They also include made-to-order items like omelets. Overall our stay was very pleasant.
GGuest UserAs I reflect on my 3 week trip around Alaska I can't help but realize this was the worst of my experiences, and I stayed at a super 8. The room was musty and in dire need of a DEEP clean. the mattress was indented and old. I left this property with a rash on my neck and face. I brought this to their attention and was simply told ”sorry” and also that there were no bed bugs found in my room. I beg to differ, it took me over a week to recover. This was just the beginning unfortunately. The staff is obviously not happy and not treated well. The overall energy is very stiff and uptight. Restaurants were closed and understaffed, no bartender during the day to make drinks. I went off property for dinner and found great food elsewhere. Overall, its outdated and not worth the price of the room or food. I will say that the spa is so amazing and worth going to and worth the price. Go there and stay someone else in town!
First night, at check in: We were given the key to an occupied room. Walked right in on some guy sleeping before realizing what was going on. They gave us new keys and room number. Their 'system was down', but said that should be the end of our trouble... Second night (after day surgery): we walked in to find all our stuff was gone, room cleaned. Did we walk into the wrong room again? No: The front desk said they had moved us out accidentally, but not to worry: all our dirty clothes and toiletries had been dumped into our suitcase, and they would drop back by our room in a bit. The desk guy asked if there was anything he could do? Yeah: Don't enter my room again until after I check out. I would have asked for a refund but was too afraid of how they'd screw that up also. In years of traveling, never experienced anything like it. Unrelated note: there's a huge vagrant camp across the street (at least they know who's tent is who's).
JJesi JI'm a Platinum Elite member and stay at Marriott almost exclusively when traveling work business or pleasure. This was one of the worst experiences ever (only one worse than this stay was one in Denver last year). The AC was broken in the rooms and it was 85 degrees in our room. We were not told this upon check-in and discovered it once we got to the room. When we went back downstairs to tell front desk staff to tell them the AC wasn't working in our room, the response was ”You and everyone else.” They told me we could have a fan for our room. I requested one be brought up while we went to dinner and was told ask when you get back. When we got back, I asked and they said they would look for one and bring it up. An hour later, I called downstairs and was told there weren't any left. After 3 hours with our windows open in the room, the temperature in our room only went down to 84. At 9pm, we drove to Walmart and bought our own fans just so we could sleep. I believe it was fixed sometime the next day or the day after. I honestly don't know as nothing was communicated. When we went to check out, I tried the AC in our room and it was working. The front desk staff was completely indifferent to any concerns we had. This hotel is in a very sketchy part of town and I honestly was surprised to see my rental car still in the parking lot each morning. The one positive I can say is that the place is clean as we saw so many people constantly cleaning throughout the day to keep it that way. For the amount of money charged to stay here (over $400 per night in late July) this was a terrible experience and I would never stay at this hotel again.
MMark S5 friends stayed Saturday night on our way to Homer for a fishing trip. Rented 5 rooms. All in all it provided us with a comfortable, clean, safe place to stay that was convenient to the airport. Front desk personnel were friendly and offered helpful suggestions to downtown restaurants. We paid $144 per room using ******* which was a great price in comparison to others. All in all good place to stay which we recommend. Enjoyed breakfast, however the eggs were terrible.
TTrenton SchneidersGreat place by the airport. For people on transit it is hard to beat. It gets the job done if that’s all you need. But if you’re looking for someplace to stay more than one night, other venues may be better suited.
LLets-go-TrekkingThe room is quite large, the two beds are 1.5 meters, enough for 4 people to sleep, we specially booked a small kitchen, because there is an aunt with us, do not like eating outside, but this small kitchen actually does not have pots and pans, so unless you have a pot yourself, Otherwise, you can't cook, because we went to Utah for the second half of the trip and brought pots and pans, so it can be used. This hotel is better than airport transfer, so we can drop off the bus at the hotel, so we will call back by ourselves after the drop off. But day 2 could do their bus again to the airport.
MMyMyMaiEnjoyed our stay thanks to the microtel employees. I would definitely recommend and return for future trips. They even welcomed my dog (who may seem scary but is a sweet girl and service animal)
LLiangjiyouyouThe accommodation conditions are acceptable, the space is relatively spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The facilities are outdated, the breakfast variety is limited, and paper cups of milk are not replenished in time. The overall experience is average and the price/performance ratio is not good
