What a find! This hotel is perched at the end of the Main Street in Amalfi with spectacular views from the breakfast balcony. The walk from the town centre is relatively easy (do not be put off!). Yes, there are a few steps but a small lift glides you up to reception. The staff at the hotel are world class (5 stars), exuding warm and hospitality. It’s Nello, Tommaso and Valeria that are this hotel’s best asset. They welcome you like family, happy to suggest things to do/see. Tommaso was exceptional. Please consider serving plates of fresh fruit at breakfast (watermelon, peaches or nectarines). This would be very much appreciated. The addition of a constant supply of ice cold water or juice from the machine in the breakfast room was a great touch. I can’t recommend Villa Lara highly enough. We will definitely be back again.

Excellent Staff at the Hotel. Tomas and Valerie were always ready to help and go the extra mile in making the stay comfortable. The hotel is located in Amalfi and very near to the busy happening street of Amalfi town. The hotel balcony has awesome views and morning breakfast and evening coffee is a delight from that view . Overall a very good place to stay when with family. Rooms are nicely maintained and clean.

Staying at Villa Lara is like having your own villa in Amalfi. The staff - Nello, Valeria, Thomas and the driver they arranged to pick us up from the Naples airport and take us to the cruise terminal at Civitavecchia were all warm, welcoming and helpful. Even before we arrived, they provided information and recommendations. Our rooms were on the ground floor, so we were able to treat the breakfast room and terrace like an extension of our room. Almost everything on the Amalfi coast requires you to climb hundreds of steps. So, the elevator is a plus. Beware though that there are still steps to climb and a bit of an uphill from the center of town. We were very grateful that the staff handled all our luggage on the way in and out. I can't imagine a better place to stay!

Wat een leuk hotel net boven de stad Amalfi. Met de auto door het stadje zelf heen, dat is al een belevenis op zich. Aangekomen bij het hotel een parkeerplek gereserveerd en werd de auto geparkeerd. Klein trapje op met de koffer en verder omhoog met een lift. Villa Lara is echt een heel leuk hotel. Heerlijk ontbijt en in de avond een heerlijk kopje thee.

Our room was lovely, and the service was impeccable. Tomas was extremely helpful in helping us figure out the bus schedule and he also recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The breakfast terrace was beautiful with an amazing view of Amalfi and the sea. We loved that the hotel was just far enough from the busy part of town so that it was quiet, but close enough to walk anywhere we needed to. We hope to be back in the future!

Beautiful location convenient to shopping and beach. The views were breathtaking! Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast each morning.

they have a nice terrace and a few rooms (we had no view in the rooftop room). parking was available from an external garage for 35 eur per night.
