We really wanted this little wellness spa to meet all expectations, but sadly did not check all the boxes. It is such a very well-manicured and well taken care of hotel. We were really looking forward to some relaxing, quiet time while enjoying the spa and services. Our 1st day we did actually considered leaving as it was very rowdy. Kids everywhere, shouting and doing cannonballs, large groups of people coming in and out of the relaxing rooms and smoking outside the door, while carrying on loud conversations. You could really not relax at all, with all the chaos going on. Then they all checked out on Sunday and the volume went way down. We decided to give it another shot and then it really got much better. It became the advertised wellness spa and quiet retreat resort. Our Main reason for staying was the food and Vivien in the Dining Room. She was an absolutely perfect person for us to have with us and she was so kind and attentive. She really made our evenings very fun, while taking such amazing care of us. We also had the pleasure of meeting Tom on our stay and can't say enough great things about him as well. The Chef here is a culinary genius and made all my foodie dreams come true (Thank you Chef Elisabeth). As we were starting to really enjoy ourselves before our trip home the next wave of rowdy crowds came again. I do recommend the hotel during the off season and from Sunday-Wednesday if you really want some relaxation.

A lovely Hotel with friendly staff. I can recommend the Spa, a fabulous massage from Hermione and a great Facial. If you have chance, join in with the wine tasting with Thomas, the Sommelier, whose knowledge and enthusiasm shine through. We went on a walk with Tom, the mountain guide- my first time in snowshoes. Tom knows walks you would never find on your own. I f you travel with Inghams, seek out Richard. He has a vast local knowledge and is lovely. Try and visit the Church, its beautiful, and take a evening carriage ride - brilliant. The food is fabulous, the staff wonderful. Our room overlooked the mountains and the wonderful outdoor pool - magical swimming at night under the stars. We would love to return.

Was will man im Urlaub mehr?

This is a family run hotel, they make you very welcome. The staff are great and make you feel right at home. The hotel has a range of rooms from traditional to modern. We had a traditional room up in the oldest part of the hotel under the eves - room 333, it was cozy but the sloping ceilings made showering in the bathroom unworkable without drenching everything. I would suggest you look at more modern rooms if you are thinking about staying here. The views from the hotel are spectacular, the public rooms elegant and comfortable. The wellness centre in the basement is excellent; there is an indoor pool that is linked to the outdoor pool, steam rooms, saunas, rest areas and showers. There are a range of treatments you can have at a cost. It's clean and delightful The food at this hotel is exceptional as is the wine list (that can be pricey). Their evening menu is effectively seven courses. Dishes are inventive and delicious. It makes this hotel very popular with locals and visitors and is not to be missed.

Thank you to the Margreiter Family for making our second visit to their superb hotel, and the lovely village of Alpbach, so memorable! We both enjoyed ourselves immensely and we will be back again for more, one day soon. The food prepared and served by your chefs and waiters was just wonderful! Every course of every meal was special, and it was a delight for my wife, who does most of the culinary work at home. We were particularly pleased to have a table by the window overlooking your fantastic view of mountains. Our room was so comfortable, and the ‘Alpine’ pillows enchanting and different every day – great imagination by the maid! Your health spa is the best we’ve ever experienced and it’s perfect for relaxing after a day on the pistes of the Wiedersbergerhorn. We both love Austria now, and want to return in the summer months for a walking holiday, possibly with other family members. Please pass our warmest good wishes to all your staff, and especially to both Monika’s, and Peter and Christophe who gave us exceptional service and the warmest of welcomes. It is lovely that you all recognized us, even after 14-months.

The hotel is a few minutes walk from the local bus station. The sunset view from the garden is lovely. The staffs are very helpful. There are plenty of walks from the village or you would take the bus ( which is free for hotel guests) to other starting points. The breakfast and dinner are good. The only down side is the wifi is rather slow.

This is an excellent hotel at a great value price. Food was brilliant, breakfast always on form, afternoon tea much better than I've had elsewhere and dinner was ample but fine dining. Sometimes it took a while to get served between courses but the service is good. The spa was really fantastic although the outside pool wasn't always heated enough. The hotel put on special treatments in the saunas which are great fun and interesting although to get the most you will need to understand German. Well worth attending. 10 Euro pp wine tasting one evening was a real treat and Ludwig was fantastic. Very memorable. The staff service was excellent but they charge for tap water at dinner which really annoyed our group. Whilst it's small change, it's the principle. It's also unfair that in a group of 4 (two couples), one of the couples is charged, not the other. It just doesn't work and is ethically not right when we can take it from the taps ourselves. The standard rooms are absolutely awful - do not book or you will regret it. However they do have the best views. The romantik comfort room however is incredible and well worth the upgrade money. Just such a shame the standard is one of the worst rooms I've ever seen, and that includes some 2* chalets! One of the couples in our group was deeply disappointed to see the disparity in quality. This hotel is 1 min walk up a hill to the bus stop and buses come regularly although.l beware they don't return regularly in the middle of the day. Alpbach is beautiful and I suspect this may be one of the best hotels. Quite a find despite a few downsides that we'd just avoid in future.

We stay every year and it’s a highlight. Fantastic staff, perfect rooms with great Mountain views. Tons of hiking and gentle walks. Delicious breakfast buffet with sensational fruit and breads, superb cheese and local wine and a big salad bar.
