Renz Himalayan Retreat

Tucked away in the lower Kumaon ranges of Uttarakhand, Renz Resort is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever put up with city chaos. Just a smooth 300 km drive from Delhi, it rewards you with views of Trishul and adjacent peaks—because let’s be honest, finding snow-capped mountains this close to Delhi feels like winning the lottery. The cottages, tastefully done with a keen eye for detail, carry a fun twist—each named after a Scotch whisky, thanks to the owner’s ties with the Scottish Highlands (there’s a Bowmore, and yes, it comes with a dreamy private lawn perfect for bonfires and heartfelt conversations). The real showstopper, though, is the manager Mr. Digpal, whose warmth and hospitality could put five-star hotels to shame—he even personally took us on a riverside picnic, making sure we had the best time soaking in nature and stuffing ourselves with delicious food. With homemade meals that hit just the right spot and a setting that forces you to slow down and breathe, this is one hidden gem you’ll want to keep coming back to!

The location falls between Ramnagar and Ranikhet. The road was mostly good and in the final 500m, one needs to be a bit careful. Overall a good driving experience. The property itself is very peaceful and secluded. There are cottages and a bunglow option. We stayed in the Bungalow, it was one of the most beautiful and pleasant stays we had in a while. Food, though it is a fixed menu, the staff was always accomodative of our requests and food was homely and very tasty. The views from the location were amazing, and on a clear day one can spot the 7000+ peaks like Trishul, Nanda Devi etc. The staff also organised a river picnic closeby, that was a very pleasant experience.

Far from maddening crowd, in the serene atmosphere of hills,so near to majestic snow covered Shivalik ranges of Himalayas, enjoying all around divine Cedar n Pine trees!! We spent quite relaxing time here in Far Away Renz...rejuvenated..no pollution..clear sky with so many stars to watch.. beautiful sunrise. Not to forget such a modest n sincere staff always at our service!!!

Tucked away in beautiful mountains of Uttarakhand, Faraway Renz is an ideal place to take a breather from the hustle bustle of Urban life and spend some quality time with friends and family or even by yourself. I recently got a chance to visit the place with a few of my friends and from the time we checked in to the day we left, we were convinced we have made the best choice. Great nature walks accompanied by none other than the owner of the resort, Rishi, home-made food, a mini library, thoughtful collection of activities/games and impromptu arrangement of bonfire ***** with some traditional music. All this made the stay a perfect 'getaway' for us. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to have uninterrupted relaxation in nature's lap.

I booked this place after reading glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately this place is very ,very far from luxury. It's a cute little place tucked away in the back of beyond. Very quiet and very serene. But that's it. The cottages are too basic, used bottles of Pantene and Nivea as toiletries, water in colored plastic jugs which I hope is RO...no mineral water, duvets and pillows which are very dak bungalow like. Bathrooms lacked the hygiene which they did clean up when mentioned. Food ....we had pakoras and chai for tea which were nice and dinner was nice in a homely style. Overall it was very disappointing...and am really surprised how people have given it such great ratings. It's a 2 star property at best. The nicest bungalow is the 2 bedroom one on top everything else is like a Dak bunglow.

The place is very beautiful and well done. They have taken care of every requirement and provided amenities for the same. The views from the bungalow were amazing. There was so much greenery all around and it was amazing looking at the sunrise and the sunset from there. We were a family of six (us, parents, sister, and our daughter) who went there to celebrate our daughter’s first birthday since we wanted a peaceful and serene place for the celebrations. First of all, we had booked two cottages for ourselves, and they upgraded us to a bungalow, which really made it even more memorable. The hospitality was amazing. The caretaker made an extra effort to help us set up the birthday decorations. And the cherry on the top was the amazing food they served us throughout the time we stayed there. It’s a place we will definitely want to come back to and spend more time!
