Our July 3-12, 2023, family stay at the Novotel Almaty City Center Hotel for our son and daughter-in-lawās Qyz Uzatu brideās wedding was memorable and outstanding. The staff was accommodating beyond expectations. Examples of services and assistance furnished include: 1) gorgeous congratulatory bouquet of roses, cake, and bottle of champagne for bride and groom upon their arrival, 2) Front Desk Receptionist Elmira ordered, negotiated, and ābabysatā multiple wedding flower bouquets the day of the brideās wedding event, 3) Deputy General Manager Yevgeniy personally helped finalize five 10-day room reservations, following up multiple times ensuring our full satisfaction, then emailing us a farewell and thank you note for our stay, 4) Front Desk Manager Altyn happily assisted with various requests, 5) entire staff was cooperative, positive, and professional, and 6) hotel restaurantās breakfast buffets were delicious, and lunches were quite satisfying, too. Additionally, the hotel location was fantastic b/c: itās adjacent to the large public plaza with memorial and fountains, as well as the tram to the nearby mountaintop which had restaurants, zoo, amusement park, etc.; walkable city center with nearby restaurants, shopping, green spaces, and more. Based on our familyās experience, we zealously endorse and recommend the Novotel Almaty City Center Hotel and will fondly remember our stay and the hotelās kind, thoughtful, and service-oriented staff for taking care of our family.

Our stay at Ritz-Carlton Almaty was exceptional, in fact our fav part of the city as tourists. The best part was the warm service from the staff, in particular thanks to Yekaterina (Kate), Malika, and concierge lady. Kate was welcoming and
informative upon check in. Guest service staff Malika gave us attentive care throughout our stay and accommodated our preferences, which truly enhanced our experience in the country. Concierge lady gave us comprehensive advice on where to visit.
The view from both our room and the Sky Lounge was unparalleled. Snow-capped mountains framed the landscape, offering a mesmerizing backdrop that undoubtedly ranks among the best in Almaty.
Will definitely come back here if weāre back in the city.

The breakfast was good, but not fantastic. The room was good and clean, there were some supplies in the toilette. Parks and places around the hotel are nice, and you can have a good walk around, if you wish. There were always noise (I'd assume cleaners did some work) quite early in the morning. Another issue is that the breakfast time in the morning is until 10am sharp, which is not convenient for people travelling from Europe for leisure. As I understood, there're no alternatives available. We asked a bottle of water and an additional blanked to the room, and it was challenging to get them. Particularly, with the bottle of water, as they refused to put the cost of it on the hotel room, but requested a cash payment. It was a surprise for us.

Set in its own grounds the Intercontinental Almaty looked impressive when we arrived. We had a good welcome and we were recognised as IHG Diamond Ambassador Members and advised that we had been upgraded from the Premium Room that we booked. We travelled by glass elevator to our floor which gave us great views of the vast atrium. The room was spacious but we didn't get the upgrade that we were promised but not a major issue because it was nicely decorated and there were great views of the surrounding area and the mountains in the distance. There was a complimentary enhanced fruit platter arranged on the coffee which was highly appreciated. The bathroom was fine with a powerful shower and large bathtub, wall mounted soap dispensers were provided. We had access to the Club Lounge and we found it extremely impressive. The lounge was nicely appointed and had a nice offering of food and drinks available throughout the day with a generous offering during cocktail hour where a nice selection of hot dishes were offered. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, it was a short distance from the downtown area of the city, the facilities were top notch and the staff members we came into contact with were professional and approachable.

What a disappointing hotel. The service was awful throughout. Whatever the question the answer was always NO! Check in time was 2:00pm. I arrived at noon and asked for an early check in. NO! The room was ready but unless I paid $50 they would not allow early check in. (A different clerk did eventually check me in early) The restaurant closed at 7:00pm for dinner and there was no nearby option. I got take out and just asked for silverware and an empty glass. NO, you may not take to room. Eventually I procured a single fork (still no glass allowed in room. āPeople steal themā). 30 min later, a knock on the door asking for the fork back! Bar was horribly stocked. Red wine? NO. White Wine? NO. Just beer Breakfast opened at 7am. I arrived at 6:50 and just asked if I could have a coffee while i waited. NO. They ran out of juice, asked for moreā¦.wait for itā¦NO. Power was off several times, once for 2+ hours. Windows donāt open so it became very stuffy. Room was not cleaned one day. I asked just for fresh towels. I had to bring my used ones down to the front desk, where they counted them to be replaced. I guess their guests steal towels too! On checkout I asked politely if I could speak to the manager. āNo manager hereā. That kinda sums up the whole stay. Many, many better options here and this should never be part of IHG with the terrible service

An iconic hotel, grand and impressive. Beautiful ambience, great location, top class breakfast spread, high speed WiFi and helpful staff. Though, I arrived one day late to the hotel, the receptionist was kind to provide me room that with an upgrade. The view of snow clad mountains from my balcony was scintillating. I arrived late night, but I could get something to eat, thanks to the intervention of Lady Manager. I also got sumptuous packed breakfast as I left the hotel for a day trip quite early in the morning. The restaurant is pretty good, though a bit over crowded during breakfast. A must stay to enjoy the hospitality of this great country and people.

Central hotel in Almaty, everywhere else was quite expensive so I chose Renion Park hotel. It was similar to the photos but sadly the room was way too hot for me, thankfully I could open the window! Other guests kept me awake from running up and down the corridor all night and one even tried to get in my room I think, not realising it wasnāt theirs! The room itself is adequate and has most things you need but lacks finesse and is a bit rough around the edges. For example the sink had no plus, some of the skirting boards were falling off and light fixtures had gaps where you could see behind. However the location was good and you can walk to most things, the view of the mountains was beautiful. Be aware that most international credit cards donāt work very well in Kazakhstan so book via an international platform so they can charge you properly!

DDaniilMy stay at MuTu hotel was absolutely fantastic! The interior design is modern yet cozy with beautiful attention to detail. The living space features comfortable purple sofas and elegant sheer curtains that let in plenty of natural light. The dining area is stunning with a large dining table, stylish chairs, and thoughtful plant decorations that add a touch of nature indoors.
What really impressed me was the kitchen - it has gorgeous colorful mosaic tile backsplash that gives a vibrant personality to the space, contrasting beautifully with the two-tone cabinetry (dark and wood finish). Everything was immaculately clean and well-organized.
The staircase area with its contrasting dark and white railings shows the careful design elements throughout the property. The light pink/beige walls create a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout.
The owner is an incredibly kind Chinese gentleman who goes above and beyond to assist guests with anything they might need. His hospitality made the stay even more special.
If you're looking for a beautifully designed, comfortable place with excellent service, MuTu hotel is definitely worth booking!
GGuest UserI had to fly to Almaty on family business. Hotel itself is trendy, historical building. Inside is really nice, clean. Front desk folks are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Rooms looks exactly as on photos. Each room has electric cattle, 2 bottles of water for each occupant. They refill tea, coffee, water every day. If you ask, they can bring you thus any time. I have to say their 24 hours room service is great. I bought room with breakfast. Highly recommend. Menu/ buffet is good. You can order omelets or oatmeal. One thing, though. Menu does not change at all. So, if you stayed few days, you will be fine. I stayed 10 days. It kind got boring after 4 days. Never the less, breakfast is good. Housekeeping is great! They really clean your room, disinfect. They change sheets every other day, towels every day. A lot of toilettes: shampoo, conditioner, body wash gel, body and hands creams, shower cap, even hair comb. You can pre order transfer from and to airport. They met me with the sign. It was great. Really great hotel. I will highly recommend to stay there.
IINFOKODEThe room was not cleaned; no drinking water was provided (drinking water for the next day). I have stayed in this hotel many times, and this time it feels much worse than before.
We have booked 2 rooms for 3 Nights at the Hotel. The hotel is centrally located and very well maintained. Rooms are big and well designed. The USP of the Hotel is its swimming pool and Jacuzzi pool in the basement. They also offer SPA and its quite well maintained with courteous staff. Biggest flipside is the lack of veg/vegan options at the breakfast. Even a basic item like boiled eggs get over and not refilled. Housekeeping is another department where the Hotel needs to buck up. Overall a very good stay.
GGuest UserSo, I booked 4 nights on two separate bookings for different rooms having extended my stay in Almaty. As such, the photos provided represent a ground-floor double room and a upstairs family room with a mezzanine. Most importantly, for the price paid, which was very reasonable indeed, I consider the hotel to be of superb value. As such I shall order my opinions according to their importance. Firstly. The staff were very friendly and professional throughout the stay including the security. Secondly, I approve of the interior of the hotel - the overall design of the rooms being very comfortable indeed, and unusually spacious. The breakfast from 7-10 was cosy and supplied all the necessaries, though I would recommend fried eggs for the future. In addition to the above, the double room had satellite TV with access to the internet - i.e. YouTube etc. The swimming pool, though I didn't use it looks fantastic, and the restaurant food is well-priced and delicious (I recommend the lentil soup, with Chicken-Spinach and a side of rice). Though there was construction work happening which could have been a little more tidy given that some guests have to navigate through it, I would still rate this hotel a 5/5 for the value of the booking. š
GGuest UserGood size room, more amenities than expected for an Ibis including dressing gown and slippers. Small modern bathroom. It's a new hotel but some fixtures already show wear and tear, for example the toilet paper holder is coming away from the wall. I like the filtered water stations for endless refills of your provided carafe. Great location, shops and restaurants all around. Good gym and large modern sauna. Helpful staff provide good service and speak English. āLine Brewā attached restaurant has delicious food at very reasonable prices. Breakfast buffet is a standard selection. Great value and recommended.
GGuest UserThis is not a bad hotel but not quite as luxurious or high end as one might expect from the pricetag. Checkin was handled well and I get a modest upgrade for Hilton status. The best thing about the room was the view of the snowcapped mountains from two sides. Bed was comfy and towels were thick and plush. The bathroom was not great; a stand-in tub with a half door that doesn't keep the water from leaking out, and a ridiculously places handheld shower that either you had to hold or crouch down (unless you are under 5 feet tall) to use. Just unacceptable for a four star international hotel. Also the shower gel didn't work and the shampoo container was not even attached to the wall. Other things in the room didn't work quite right. Breakfast was a reasonably good buffet. The location is slightly out of the way but an easy and cheap Yandex ride or walk of 20-30 minutes to the more central sights. Overall not a bad choice (especially if you want to earn or burn Hilton points) but not sure it is worth the rates.
GGuest UserIāve never left a negative review in my life for any establishment. I instead opt to not leave a review at all. But I must share this horrendous experience with others so no one makes the mistake of going here. My colleagues and I booked the stay for around 5 nights. We booked through booking.com, and were asked online if we needed a smoking or non smoking room. We opted for smoking and point to note the conversation was on text through the app. Pictures attached We checkin to Mildom and the lady tells us thereās no balcony rooms available however you may smoke today in the room and weāll provide you with a smoking room tomorrow. The next day they tell us to shift into Mildom Premium, the same hotel as them except claiming to be more āluxuriousā. We check in and they tell us itās going to cost us 20000 KZT extra (approx $60) for the room as itās bigger. This was unusual as they never mentioned this before or a bigger room however we paid them as the reason we asked to be shifted was to get a smoking room. On the night of checkout, as im leaving these two women working at the front desk, tell me there is a situation where youāve smoked in the room and there will be a penalty on you before you leave. Im staring at their faces in disbelief and not only this, but they send a bell boy upstairs to our room to check for smells of cigarettes. I know this because as he came down one of the women asked him if he checked and presumably got PICTURES to which he said no and she was visibly irritated by him. I try to explain calmly at first that we have the conversation with booking.com where you guys have agreed to give us a smoking room. This exasperated women starts getting irritated and by that time Iād called a friend who understood Russian. She tells him they have video of us smoking in the room and she looks at her computer and reads out my passport details while looking threateningly at me as if sheāll turn me in (which btw lol I already had my passport with me). I get extremely irritated by this point and tell her that we arenāt denying we smoked. Just for laughs I asked her why donāt you show me the video then. She says her manager has it and she canāt show it right now š. My friend then speaks to her in Russian and shows both these women my. Booking.com convo which id been trying to so many times before. They immediately saw their mistake and asked us to please not take any offence to what they said. This kind of harassment deserves to be publicised and I urge any potential travels to Almaty Kazakhstan to stay away for your own sake. The way this staff treated us as if we were criminals was astounding, Any establishment with such employees need to revamp themselves immediately, firstly by getting rid of such rude receptionists. I believe Iāve left this review at Mildom City hotel aswell by accident. Please disregard it. Mildom Premium is the hotel Iām referring to.
AandrewsE1824WOI had an 11 hour layover between my flight from Dubai to my flight to Atyrau and was really searching for a hotel near the airport that was convenient and reasonably priced. Grand Hotel Erbil is both of those. I made the booking online with the option to pay on arrival. The booking made provision for a free shuttle pickup from the airport and a very reasonable transfer back the following morning. The hotel confirmed everything by Whatsapp. Contactless payment. Clean room. Clean linen. Friendly and efficient service. I ordered a simple burger and chips via WhatsApp and the food arrived hot and fresh. Minibar is fully stocked and reasonably priced. Their menu is extensive (55 page book) and they cater for everything from a bowl of hummus to platters of meats, cakes, cocktails, etc. For a traveller, this hotel is well worth it. Thanks, Grand Hotel Erbil!
AAlvenAiThe hotel is located in the center of Almaty. There is a big shopping mall opposite the hotel, which is very convenient for eating. The hotel is a little old, but it is cost-effective for this price range. I met several Chinese people.
