I subtracted two points out of five for the following reasons: 1- Comfort. The room, although it is “private”, is nothing more than a bed separated from the next one with office cubicle furniture. These false walls are so thin that you can hear and feel all the sounds and vibrations of the guests on the entire floor. The worst thing about it is the door opening and closing system, which is extremely noisy, so if you choose this hostel for the privacy option you should know that the level of noise exposure is the same as if you were in a room with 12 bunk beds without separation. If this is not a problem, then it is a great option since the room is comfortable, includes a desk, and the rest of the facilities are nice and were always clean. 2- Location. Almaty is not a huge city, and if it were located 10 blocks closer to the center, the metro could be avoided entirely. It is true, however, that the hostel is located near a netri station.
