We visit this hotel reguarly throughout the year for lunch and drinks. The terrace on a sunny day is just the best spot in Aldeburgh to wile away an afternoon gazing out to sea with a glass or 3 of Rose and maybe a crab sandwich. We recently had occasion to stay overnight and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a sea view room. The room was lovely, clean, water tea & coffee provided and bed super comfy. Both dinner and breakfast were great - worth noting that in our view the hotel's lunch and dinner offering has improved materially over the last couple of years and is super tasty. We especially rate the pork chops! Yes, the outside of the hotel might benefit from a lick of new paint, but look past that; the lounge has recently been refurbished and what really makes the place is the staff, who are just so welcoming and friendly and try to accommodate any reasonable requests you may have. Special mentions go to Dan, Ben, Martin, Josh, Dorey, Ollie & Niko - I am sure I will forget someone so please forgive me, but hopefully this will show just how welcoming and helpful everyone is across the board at this hotel.

I am giving 4 stars because this accommodation has great potential. We were given a very warm welcome even though we had arrived in the middle of a very busy Sunday lunch service. The owners have not been in place long and have obviously worked very hard to get everything in place for visitors. The accommodation was a self contained unit in the grounds of the pub. It was very clean but small. The mismatched bedding was fine by us but may annoy others. The ensuite with walk in shower was modern and very clean but a bit cramped. Breakfast is ordered the previous evening which I think is reasonable for a small establishment. The breakfast on time and my poached eggs were perfect and my husband's full English was well-cooked with very generous portions. There was ample parking.
