Read this and know this STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! Bad linen showed stains. Sheets over bleached. Pillows are hideous. Dust bunnies along the wall floor corners along with bed box and headboards. Total turnoff, bed bugs. Even after an inspection, somehow it showed up.

This hotel is the worst La Quinta Inn by Wyndham in various states in the US, if not the worst hotel that I have stayed in. There are no dollies or elevators in this two-story hotel. So, I had to drag and haul all my suitcases and bags for a three night stay up the flight of stairs. That was not an easy task for a senior citizen with back issues. How they get away with this and that neither the city nor the state takes action against them under the ADA remains a mystery. Every La Quinta by Wyndham that I stayed in has a fridge and a microwave, and a full kitchen suite. I must have missed the fine print that said the standard room does not have a microwave or kitchen. To add insult to injury, the noise level in the adjacent rooms on Saturday night, when the hotel was nearly full, was so unbearable that I had to call the front desk to ask them to do something about it. The breakfast that is included is also below par.

Update: We returned home from our trip and contacted the property, the corporate office, and had help from ******* who also tried to settle on our behalf. So far they refuse to honor our refund. Do not stay here!!! Our stay was horrible. The door to our room was dented as if damaged by a crowbar and the facilities were older and showed dinginess. The beds and linens were clean. The worst part was the night. A domestic disturbance in a nearby room woke us at 2am. We could hear a woman yelling for help and a man’s voice telling her to shut up. The woman was begging to be “let out” and “let go”. Between 2am and 3am the night manager continually called our room from the office blaming us for the noise complaints even though we were very clearly communicating it was not coming from our room and that we too were concerned. I asked the night manager to please come to our unit and see for herself or call the police on our behalf as we did not want to leave the room and chance becoming part of the problem. The only response we got was for us to leave and stop making so much noise. It was becoming clear she did not know how to handle the situation and did not seem to have good enough English to understand what we were trying to tell her. At 3:20am, after the night manager had called yet again to tell us to quiet down, we ended up calling the non-emergency police number and finally 911 for assistance for both the screaming next door and the harassment from the night manager calling our room telling us that we needed to leave. My children were terrified and huddled together in the corner of the room! The police were called to the hotel and the screaming stopped. None of us were able to sleep, and got up to pack at first light. The silver lining (we thought) was that the day manager had arrived at 6:30am before the police had finished their investigation and therefore understood the horrible situation that had played out over the night. When we checked out at sunrise she agreed that we should receive a refund, but needed to take our information and work out how to do refunds through ******* with her boss. So far we have not heard back, but we were VERY happy to be leaving Albuquerque and getting on with our vacation.

What's important to you? If you want a clean room, decent breakfast, a clean shower and reasonable rates, this is your hotel. If you want amenities, keep driving. This is a large, very old hotel in dire need of TLC. It's bare bones hence the low price.

La Quinta has changed, used to be clean, good breakfast, now I need to read the reviews before going. India mgrs., insist on a 100.00 deposit, no matter the status you've reached. Status means nothing, and good luck on getting back your deposit.

I've had great experiences at other La Quintas so was disappointed by this one. There was no fridge in my room and the ice machine was broken. When I spoke to the front desk they upgraded me to a room with a fridge at no extra cost. I appreciated this. The rooms are extremely basic. I did like that there wasn't a carpet, it felt cleaner to me. But honestly I felt kind of unsafe as a solo woman.

For those that travel for work might be okay, but for traveling through avoid this place! Run down beyond belief, terrible desk customer service. I don’t have enough space to list all the things wrong with this place, starting with mens urine all over the walls outside the rooms, to paint peeling off doors to just outright dirty. Was dark when we arrived so didn’t see all this until the morning. They are set you cannot have coffee before 7 am (was 6:45 when I went to get some), only decaf in the room. Probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

Rude front desk clerk. Could barely understand her. She lied about several things. Told me all the info was on their website, but I checked the site and it was not. Instead of being customer-service oriented, she stood there and boldfaced lied to me. The room was facing the highway, and there was no way to put the fan on constant, so I was kept awake most of the night by loud semis and loud sports cars zipping by. The breakfast area was disgusting. The clerk in the morning had a sign up that he'd be right back, helping a guest. He was sitting, staring at his mobile, in a side area that you could see from the desk. The breakfast area was covered in food residue, but he was too "busy" to go check on it and clean it up. Ripped carpets, damaged walls, stained room and hall carpets. Clearly the hotel owner has no pride in their property. I would not stay here again.
