Hampton Inn & Suites Albuquerque-Coors Road

Excellent breakfast, spacious and clean room, pleasant staff.

We stayed here for an overnight before heading to Santa Fe. We are usually big fans of Hampton Inn because they are very functional and don’t have unnecessary frills. However, the room we got here is rather disappointing. We booked a king suite with walking shower (just to make things easier). Upon arriving to the room, we noticed the AC not properly working. After a bit of trial and error, we found out that the wall thermostat doesn’t actually work (even tho the wall unit said to make changes in the wall thermostat). The AC unit isn’t working right, which resulted in a musty scent in the room. The couch and chair have stained on them, so we avoided using it. We also found out that the curtains are “electronic” controlled but apparently they don’t work and the housekeeping use construction clamps to clamp them up. The water pressure and temperature in bathroom were fine, but the vents don’t work. So it gets steamy and further adds to the room musty problem. The room we had clearly should not be used until it is repaired. We asked front desk about it, and they said someone cut the wire so the only way to fix would be to open up the walls to repair. That’s a good reason to not rent out the room. Since we were here for an overnight only, we just stuck it out. But wanted to warn others. We mentioned to the front desk as we checked out, but they didn’t seem to care either.

I give this hotel only two stars because of the poor condition of the bathroom (Room 308). The bathroom tile is literally separated, some broken, and the grout non-existent. The tile is uneven and moveable, being susceptible to a slip and fall injury. It appears this has been the condition for some time, and this hotel is placing their guests at risk. Hotels have a duty of care to their guests and failing to do so they risk being negligent. I notified the staff of the broken tile and hope they don’t rent this room out to anyone until repaired.

The Breakfast lady worked hard to keep everything stocked and was friendly. I Love having waffles for the kids and it keeps them busy making them. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Nice pool and hot tub. Everyone was friendly and check in was a breeze. Would stay again.

Disappointed It needs to be remodeled and updated. Everything in the room is old and stinks. Not worth the nightly rate. Been in way better hotels for that price.
