Absolutely Disgusting – Avoid at All Costs! I’ve never stayed in such a disgraceful hotel in my life. Cheerful Way Minichoro in Albufeira is anything but “cheerful.” It was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. We specifically requested no room cleaning, and yet the cleaners repeatedly entered our room and went through our personal belongings. This is a serious invasion of privacy and completely unacceptable. The facilities were in a shocking state: Broken door handles that made us feel unsafe the entire time A filthy pool that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in days Furniture was broken, stained, and filthy – absolutely revolting The entire environment felt unhygienic, neglected, and unsafe To top it off, the reception staff were incredibly rude and dismissive, with zero interest in helping or addressing any of our concerns. This place should not be allowed to operate. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone – in fact, I strongly urge you to stay far, far away. It completely ruined what should have been a relaxing trip. Avoid this dump at all costs!

If sleep and comfort aren’t your thing then this is the place for you. This is an apartment complex that predominantly attracts large groups of young men . This leads to constant drunken behaviour and nights of no sleep. The constant sound throughout the night of doors slamming, people shouting and 24 hour pool access. Upon arrival the named booker of the room will be required to pay a €250 deposit in cash on top of the travellers tax. Be sure to have the money or you will be asked to withdraw it from cash machines which are a good 10 minute walk away. The rooms are not only occupied by you and your party but are also inhabited by cockroaches. The lights do not work on arrival and the rooms are not cleaned daily. There is a constant smell from the toilet in the room. The staff are ok! The numerous dealings with drunken teenagers does appear to have taken its toll on them although they are patient and helpful. The poolside bar is run by some lovely women who are friendly but are willing to charge a lot of money for drinks. That said you are able to consume your own drinks as long as you are not near the bar otherwise it will be taken from you. The pool is ok it is heated but is a little tired as is the rest of the complex. There are much better places to stay on the same street but I can imagine the noise from this place will overspill to the other buildings in the vicinity. This is perfect for stag parties who want something cheap DO NOT STAY HERE if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for our first holiday together, on which we got engaged. It was a very special trip for us so we wanted to go for a hotel on the cheaper side to make sure we optimised our money on day trips and meals together. The reception staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly. However, we had a bad experience in regards to the cleaners stealing €200 from our room. This was also whilst we were sat on the balcony only meters away with the curtain shut. The manager of the hotel was so helpful when we discussed what had happened. He called the police and unfortunately that’s where it all went downhill. The police sat us in front of the men that stole our money and made us recite what had happened in front of them. We felt scared and intimidated by these 3 men as they stared us down whilst we told our story. The manager was so supportive throughout. The police then victim blamed us and said our story didn’t add up and made us feel terrible. The worst thing was 2 others girls had apparently reported these men earlier on in the week for the same thing and they got their money back but the men are still employed at the hotel. It is a shame this happened on our last night as it made the trip end on a bit of a downer. We then also felt unsafe sleeping in our room on the last night so we ended up putting the chain on the door and barricading the door with our suitcases out of fear the men would return to our room. Overall the hotel is what you expect for a 2 star, the highlight is the staff as they’re so welcoming and lovely. However after our run in a the cleaners and the police we wouldn’t stay here again.

Where do I start. Group of 10 staying June 2025. The WiFi in the hotel only worked if you were stood within 6ft of the router in reception, so make sure you've got a good data package. The beds were like sleeping on the stone table that Azlan got stabbed on in the narnia film. If you flushed the toilet at any point youd have a minimum wait of 3 hours before you had enough water pressure to have a (lukewarm at best) shower. The decor was incredibly outdated but in the 2 bedroom apartment number 401, there is a combination of 2 pieces of indestructible furniture in the lounge area. And when I say indestructible I mean it. No amount of 5 star frog splashes or peoples elbows from the top of the side table onto the dining table would cause any damage at all so your €100 damage waiver is as safe as houses in there! The pool area is simple, there isn't a single sun lounger in the entire hotel that isn't broken in some way, so my advice is to get a chair from the pool bar area. The pool bar by the way, incredible. The mother and daughter team running that are undoubtedly the highlight of any male groups stay. Relatively well priced and wonderful service with a smile. Only a 10 minute walk to the top of new town *****, and a 10 minute uber costing about €5 to the old town, so its in a good location. To summarise, if your looking at booking this for a stag do, hen do, girls holiday or lads holiday then this is absolutely the place for you. But if your looking at taking your wife and kids here, I would strongly recommend somewhere else.
