I have been coming to this hotel for around 11 years and never had and issue untill the past 2 years or so. Do not book this hotel if you are bringing your kids. For starters the sound proofing in the rooms is absolutely horrendous to the point you can hear people using the toilet, the bed in the living collapsed nearly every night with my 8 year old son sleeping on it. The groups of stag and hen parties are so so loud it is impossible to get any sort of sleep, on our 3rd night the group of boys above us were fighting amongst themselves throwing chairs around the room, it was so loud it woke my 1 year old up. The air con in the bedroom was broken. Do not waste your money on this hotel I know I certainly will never be returning.

The property is very well located and very close to the old town as well as Praia da Peneco. Very clean and the staff are super helpful and professional. We would like to thank Paulo, Isabel and Ibrahim for their excellent customer service. Paulo was such a good excellent source of information. Very hard working man.
We stayed at room 602 and it was super clean. Whoever cleans that room deserve a praise because everything was tidy and no dust in the cupboards.

We had a great time at the Cerro Malpique! When we first arrived we were upgraded to an apartment with sea view and I’m honestly so glad as we had only booked a studio and after staying in the apartment I would definitely book again. The apartment was modern, clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen had an oven, kettle, microwave & toaster as well as all the utensils you would need. Our balcony overlooked the old town and the beach, the views were fantastic to look out at every morning! Our bedroom had air conditioning as well as spare pillows and blankets. The hotel itself is a 10 minute walk into the old town however we got taxis to and from as I’m unable to walk far distances, but if you enjoy a walk then this hotel is in a great location. For taxis to the old town it was no more than 5 euros and for Uber it was 3-4 euros. The staff at the reception were also very lovely and added to the pleasant experience we had. I would definitely recommend here and we will definitely return!

Affordable accommodation just outside the old city up on a hill. Staff is friendly. The rooms are very old and need renovation and the beds feel like camping beds. However the bathroom was redone, which was a nice touch. There is not much in the immediate area other than a Lidl, but if you want a decently priced place to stay away from the hustle and bustle, this might be it.
