Hotel Sol e Mar Albufeira - Adults Only

We are glad that we booked this hotel. The beach view was breathtaking and remarkable. Not to mention its excellent location where the old town cobbled street is just right in front of the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast where they offered great selections and indeed one of the best breakfasts we've tried in our Portugal trip. Hotel staff were mostly friendly, especially those in the restaurant, except for the housekeeping staff who refused to give us extra drinking water on the next morning even before we checked out.

Much better hotels within walking distance. There is no pool, which we were aware of but being so close to the beach we accepted this, however the its a gravelly beach so not as pleasant to walk on. The wales are huge and powerful there is a big dip in the levels about a meter out and can be dangerous for kids. Everyone stays at the shore line. The beach is crowded every day and you have to pay for the loungers. The hotel has no external seating area at all. The rooms have balcony’s, these are constantly in the shade. I feel they should at least give a discount for the sun beds, if not free. You have coffee and tea on arrival in the room. Make the most of it cause that’s it!!! They will not give you a refresh. The coffee machine was leaking and there is no kettle The bar in the evening is a joke, nobody there and Sri is are very expensive twice the price of the bar across the road (which has live music). The entertainment was very poor. With zero atmosphere. The reception staff are rude, they take 100 euro deposit for each room which should be held on your card.. it’s not! It comes out of your account. This should be returned on departure, however instead of returning my money they took it again!!! I rang and the woman on reception as aggressive and said “nothing I can do”. I at to go through my bank to sort it. Breakfast is a lovely buffet but not much vegi options. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the showers are powerful and spacious I think the hotel is over priced and would not return

We are a couple in our 60"s and have just spent 10 days in Hotel sol e Mar, albufera. the hotel and its staff were excellent and we will definately be back again. due to my own fault, i left a valuable item behind me in the room, the hotel contactd me immediately and assured me that my item was safe. The issue is now resolved much thanks to the honesty of the hotel staff. Thank you Sol E Mar for your hospitality and honesty. It is heartwarming to see such wonderful customer service nowadays.
