The room can see the sea, which is amazing. It is also suitable for ordering breakfast and dinner. You have to pay 10 euros/meal/person in the store.
As for the room, let's just say it's average. The facilities are old and the hygiene is average. The food... don't have any expectations. You can satisfy your hunger. You can have breakfast and dinner. You can save money by going out to find delicious food for lunch.
This is probably the hotel designated by the tour group here. It felt like carloads of elderly people were being sent there. They stayed there for three days and there was elderly disco on the first floor every day. Fortunately, the soundproofing was good, and it ended at 11-12pm. Will affect rest

The facilities were average, the room was hot, the dining room was dirty, etc. The food was not very varied, the pasta was bland and the tomato sauce was watery and tasteless. They gave you leftover food from the day before. There were also quite a few mosquitoes, my whole body was covered in mosquito bites. I do not recommend the hotel.

could give zero stars I would.. now on our way back from our weekend at this hotel and trying to think of any good points about it. It’s so dated, don’t think anything’s been updated in years. Food was cold for breakfast . Dirty tables, knifes and forks. We had to eat out nights. Staff were rude. Looking at the photos now, it’s nothing like it, photos were definitely taken 15+ years ago. Never written a review on here before, so let that tell you not to book this hotel.

Another great stay at the Portomagno. It has been taken over (yet again) by a different brand but almost the same quality. A few minor savings have been made, jams and honey at breakfast now via a pump, no choice of different lakes of bread, just sliced or French bread, I do miss the lovely brown fresh loaves , but still brilliant for the money. The cafe/ bar on the reception floor closed at 9 , (which was new), so if you want coffee or a drink after dinner, you have to go downstairs and struggle upstairs with your drink, they need to revert to later closing time. Staff exceptional as always, despite the fact we spoke little Spanish we managed to get everything we needed including an ambulance at 3am. For the money we wouldn’t go anywhere else. We hope to be back in September !

Left last week and will not be back, English people treated totally differently to Spanish, English kids can't use inflatables in the pool spanish guests can,Spanish can smoke by the pool (despite signs everywhere). Staff are extremely rude to English guests, very Spanish oriented and only look after their own, if your English STAY AWAY!!!!!

Worst hotel we've been to. We checked in and instantly felt regret, the place is so run down but we waited for dinner in hope it would get better. It didn't, the variety was poor, nothing tasted right. Staff couldn't care less. Avoid 100%, some pools are shut, rooms are old, shower head was broken, floor is damaged. Only decent thing was the view.

We stayed at this hotel over the Easter weekend, and unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing and upsetting. We had booked two rooms with friends. One of the rooms had a serious issue with the air conditioning—it was not cooling at all and was instead blowing hot air. During the night, the room temperature rose to an unbearable 38°C. We reported this issue to the reception the next morning, and they assured us it would be fixed, but nothing was done. We ended up having to sleep with the balcony door open, which was far from ideal. The most disturbing incident occurred on Saturday night around 10:30 PM. While we were all sitting together in one of our rooms, there was a sudden knock at the door. When we opened it, there were two police officers, a woman(who appears to be casual and definitely not police and not looked like working for hotel), and a man who appeared to be from the hotel (though this was never clarified). They demanded to check both our rooms, saying someone reported a girl seen sitting on the balcony. We explained that we were all men, but they still insisted on searching the rooms and treated us as if we were suspicious. None of them spoke proper English, and the whole encounter felt intimidating and unwarranted. The next day, we went to the reception to ask what had happened, but the staff seemed unaware of the entire situation. To make matters worse, we later saw the same man and woman walking around the hotel in casual clothes, which added to our confusion and concern. Frankly, the way we were treated makes us feel that we were targeted because we are Asian men. No other rooms were searched, and no proper explanation was given. If the man was hotel staff, he should have known what was going on. The lack of transparency and accountability was appalling. This experience was not only uncomfortable but also discriminatory. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you value respectful treatment and basic hospitality standards.

Great location in the beach. Lots of nice restaurants and bars near by. Pleasant staff. Rooms needed to do what the did (a bed for the night) breakfast average. Was not there long enough to use the pool or the facilities. Would stay again as it’s a great base to travel to nearby areas. Almeria was about 20 mins in the car.

Here at the moment,the hotel itself is lovely and clean,pool area fabulous but the food (having dinner) is a let down,like I have gone back in time.. meat is swordfish chicken legs and hotdog,salads chips and cube potatoes, fish soup and veg that tastes of chicken.. need to up sort this area out!!!
