Swainson on Bent

I stayed at Swainson at Bohem in Adelaide and it was very disappointing. Customer Service was truly terrible. It is impossible to speak to anybody to get assistance. The check in experience was frustrating and inconvenient. The sink in the bathroom was blocked, stinky and unusable for our ten day stay. The carpets were stained and the glass balcony door was very badly cracked. Despite a concerted effort to notify the reception about issues, which is just about impossible, because you can never speak to a person and when you do, they are ineffective in arranging anything, wasting your time and energy. My email and messages were not acknowledged for 4 days and nothing was fixed. I received no applogy, refund or acknowledgement of the issue/s. Best to avoid and stay somewhere else!

Terrible. This air BnB listing is misleading and inaccurate. The first apartment we checked into was extremely poor. The carpets were stained so much that we didn’t take our shoes off (white carpet was definitely a bad choice). There were scratches and scuffs all over the walls, the sink tap was loose & there was no furniture on the balcony to enjoy the view. We called up to explain that the apartment did not match the advertisement and were told they knew and that if we could wait an hour we could move into a nicer apartment. After one hour and no update we called again and were told we would have the keys soon. Another hour went past with no information and we called again. Finally after waiting for 3 hours we got the keys to another apartment. This one was marginally better but still had filthy stained carpets, dirty items in the dishwasher, no soap and an a/c unit that leaked all over our bags. Been trying to speak with management but have been ignored, hung up on & dismissed. 0/10 Incredibly disappointing and far below the standards we had expected based on the listing and prior communication. From the moment we arrived, we encountered multiple issues that were not only frustrating but also left us feeling neglected and undervalued as guests.This was an incredibly disappointing experience. The combination of broken amenities, misleading room photos, poor cleanliness, lack of communication, and unfulfilled promises made this stay far from enjoyable. The complete lack of attention to detail and guest satisfaction made it feel like a money grab rather than a genuine effort to provide a quality experience.I would caution anyone considering this listing to look elsewhere, as the issues we faced were not only frustrating but also damaging to our trip. There are many other options out there that take guest satisfaction seriously and actually deliver on their promises. Sadly, this was not one of them, and I regret choosing to stay here and urge others not to.

Don’t do it to yourself Broken beds and furniture. One key for 3 people. The 3rd bed was an inflatable that deflated multiple times through the night that it was demanded I pay extra for despite the listing & booking stating 2br, 3 queen beds.

Don’t look too closely! The food between the cushions on the sofa…..the grubby plates, the window that doesn’t close so you risk losing your possessions. And the check in! Find somewhere else to go!

I expected internet access but did not get any at all during my stay. I was given the classic ISP reason for the issue. The accommodation itself appears poorly maintained with a lot of furniture and furnishings damaged and dated - the chairs and table in the balcony were damaged, cigarette burn on the sofa, lights above the kitchen area, leaking kettle. On arrival, I found a cup of milk in the microwave that looked like it had been forgotten about, an underwear in the washer, and old crumbs of burnt cheese in the oven tray as was about to heat up some food. This says a lot about the cleaning service being provided. Building facilities are also inefficient. The rubbish disposal was always full. The lifts were not working when we were checking out so we had to carry our luggage down via the fire escape stairwell. Overall, you get what you’ve paid for and less. The only 5/5 rating I can give is for location as it is walking distance to Rundle Mall. My suggestion to the owners - review your ISP and cleaning services. They may be cheap but you’re getting scammed.
