This is a luxurious ryokan where their service is impeccable. Staff are very well-trained and the amenities are great. There is a private onsen that anyone can use as long as it is not occupied.

A magnificent gate and building, a Noh stage showcasing local performing arts, generally well-trained staff, and delicious food. We splurged on a room with an open-air bath for 50,000 yen per person per night. This would normally be considered a five-star hotel, but the food was terrible. We had dinner in a private room in the dining area, and although the appetizer was fine, they brought two other dishes including a bowl of rice, and before we had finished those, they brought two more dishes, then a third! And to top it off, they brought the rice and dessert all together!! Wow, what an amazing inn. We were served a fairly large course meal in less than an hour. There was nothing luxurious about the food. I don't think we'll be returning. It's a shame.

Far from being just a luxury trip, it is a condensation of Japanese culture and local culture, making it irresistible for Japanese culture lovers. When you enter the entrance, there is a stone pavement, and there is a Noh stage right at the front entrance! After finishing dinner around 8:30pm, I was able to see a Kyogen performance. Apparently, various people perform regularly throughout the year... Japanese-style inns are rare these days. I think it is also recommended for people from overseas. Traditional kaiseki cuisine in Sukiya style. The seasoning makes use of the ingredients, making it elegant and delicious. The open-air bath in the large public bath had beautiful rocks, and the hot water was as smooth as a serum. The hot spring water here has a nice, slightly sweet scent. I don't like hot water or strong-smelling hot springs, so I found this one to have a really good temperature, scent, and quality, so I was able to enjoy it as many times as I wanted. Everyone working here has a warm smile every time I pass by them, and everyone seems to be doing their best, which is nice. I've never seen the landlady look so beautiful. Perhaps because it is located in southern Shinshu, I get the impression that the best aspects of Japan have not been harmed and have been carefully protected. I felt that it was a special inn that I would like to visit again from time to time.

My husband and I were on our way to Shirahone Onsen but the roads were closed due to Typhoon Mawar, so we had to find a place to stay along the way. We arrived after 5 hours of frustrating and difficult driving, unannounced. The staff were a bit surprised to see us since this is not the kind of place that has unannounced guests arrive during a typhoon, but were very welcoming and accommodating. We stayed in room 106, which was extremely spacious (large living room, separate bedroom, many small art/decor displays, dressing room, toilet room, bathroom, and separate cypress bath area, two gardens). It was a palatial traditional tatami room, very well-maintained, clean, with lovely decor and plenty of amenities. The hotel itself is huge and very beautifully decorated, with a Noh stage. The night of the typhoon, amazingly, there was a traditional Japanese drum show. The breakfast was served in a separate tatami room in the restaurant, and was very extensive. The hotel staff were wonderful. All in all, it is a great place to stay if you are looking for a traditional Japanese experience (which we were!), and was an amazing place to spend the night of the typhoon.

The room was spacious, and the open-air bath and hot spring bath attached to the room were nice. There was a Kyogen performance at night, and the breakfast was good, with 31 types of tanka, but the dinner was nothing worth taking pictures of, and the number and quantity of items were too low. few. Even though I gave him 5,000 yen as a gratuity, when I asked him to add more pickles to the last meal, he said, ``I can't do that.'' It costs 50,000 yen per person and you can't even get a small refill of pickles.I think it's disgusting that you can't even ask for such flexibility. I would like to confirm whether it is a question of the quality of Mr. Nakai who has a room, or the quality of the inn.
