[Original Review] We've stayed here twice, and both times were good. The second room had more wear and tear, so I hope HIE is staying on top of maintenance. If they do, they'll get a lot more $$$ from us over the next 4 years. Not all HIE breakfasts are the same. Some have a little extra something that makes them stand out. This HIE had ham at the buffet, which went beautifully with a perfectly-cooked cheese omelette. I always enjoy biscuits and gravy, and the sausage paired perfectly with it. In case you can't tell, we really enjoyed the breakfast here. [2025-07 Update] Not sure what's going on, but each stay has been a little worse than the one before. On our last visit, the breakfast bore no resemblance to the one I had raved about earlier. They were out of almost everything.

This is normally a chain you can count on to be clean, safe and customer friendly with all their ducks in a row. Unfortunately, this location fails all of these miserably. When we encountered a room with a funky smell and asked for another room we were met with indifference and a room with the worst door I have ever seen in any hotel. Later in the evening we discovered the sink was clogged and when we used the elevator, found the floor was very dirty. The next morning at 9am it was still filthy. In the lobby for breakfast we discovered no television and most chairs had rips in the seats. The entire hotel had a slovenly appearance. I would highly recommend not staying here. Our friends stayed in another room with a television that didn't work and we were both given a nominal amount of loyalty points. The desk clerks we dealt with did not seem to be very concerned with the rundown condition of the hotel. You can do better!

We are frequent travelers and have stayed in many hotel facilities in many states. This facility’s problems start with poor signage on the frontage road especially at night. The easiest way to locate this facility is to look for Choice Hotel sign, drive around back and you will find the Holiday Inn Express. The property’s flower beds are full of weeds. Rugs at hotel entrance were dirty. The only elevator is about 5-6 feet square. Once you get a luggage cart in the elevator there is room for only 2-3 passengers. The room has had the ceiling painted, but it was never trimmed out where the ceiling and wall meet. Baseboards and caulking are dirty. TV did not work. Breakfast items were all cold including gravy and biscuits. The eating area included chairs with ripped seat bottoms and arms. As we were checking out, we told the Desk Clerk about the problems with our room and suggested the Manager was welcome to call and we could discuss our experiences at this facility. The Desk Clerk said the Manager does not come in until 3 PM. Never received a call. The only good things at this hotel: received a free bottle of water since we are reward members, the bed was comfortable and hot water pressure was plentiful. This is a 1 star facility and is way over priced.

Nice new hotel; clean, bed comfortable and pillow great. Staff friendly. Check in easy. TV WiFi connection and reception not great.
