Ponca Motel

The two guys running the check in (a little house/kiosk) were nice. That is where the good vibes ended. I don't care about a little tired or run down. I do care that: 1. There were uys sitting in front of their rooms looking like they just got out of jail. 2. Sheets were filthy. Like hair and fresh, chunky stains. 3. Sheets then replaced with clean, but stained sheets. 3. Floor so dirty it made the bottom of our socks black within 10 minutes. 4. Toilet placement such that you had to sit sideways on it because it was so close to the wall 5. You have to step over the toilet to get to the shower (which was filthy) 6. The light by the bed didn't work 7. Weird cable TV-no live TV. The AC unit was really loud and old. 8. The room was non-refundable 9. They had the nerve to charge $100/night for this place. (about $75/night to much in my opinion) and 10. And this is the most serious one- my daughter and I absolutely did not feel safe AT ALL. We used chairs to barricade the door at night. This is not a place for women and children to stay. Very unsavory clientele. No joke. We were in Room 112 (I think).

Ponca Motel offers a welcoming atmosphere with attentive staff and clean rooms. The location is convenient, and the overall ambiance makes for a comfortable stay. However, guests should be aware that occasional train noise may impact light sleepers. Additionally, certain aspects of the outer surroundings that are city owed could benefit from the citycloser attention to ensure a premium experience. The hotel has great potential.
