Not really a hotel at all, more like a bail hostel. It cannot be judged alongside the 'normal' hotels we have relished during this trip. We recommend you avoid it. Firstly, there are two sets of security doors to pass through. There is no reception as such, no communal areas. Just a security screen, battened shut with plywood most of the time. The staff emerge to demand ID, then tell you the codes. All a bit odd. There is no lift. We were on the second floor. The room was very spacious but - equally odd - contained a bunk bed. This despite the rather brutal leaflet in the room telling you that it was strictly adults only in the hotel. Bluntly, any hotel that doesn't welcome children is no place for me. A truly horrible experience that nearly spoiled the visit to lovely Aberdeen! Worse, the sink was blocked. Reporting it the first evening resulted in an amateur attempt to unblock, leaving the sink clagged with gunk and slime for the next two nights. There was no curtain in the bathroom, just frosting on the giant sash window facing the office block opposite. It didn't feel private. Incredibly, there was a banging on the door at 9.51 this morning, reminding us to check out! Tidying the room included neatly restacking dirty coffee cups! All very peculiar. At the risk of repeating myself, this is NOT a proper tourist-friendly hotel. Probably a hostel with the staff making a bit on the side. Or something. Will advise booking site accordingly. Give it a miss at any price is my advice.
