We checked in very late at around 23:00 after a long drive from the South West of England. The hotel team were excellent, sorting the check in for 4 of us very quickly and asking if there was anything we needed. The rooms were all great and very well appointed - hair dryer, iron and ironing board, great toiletries, brilliant mirrors in the bathroom and beautiful, fluffy white towels - these are the things that make all the difference. The beds were really comfortable and there was water provided as well as tea, coffee etc. Breakfast was excellent and cooked really well - smoked haddock and poached eggs were delicious as was the full breakfast. Throughout our 2 night stay all of the team provided excellent customer service and I would 100% recommend the Atholl.

Odd stranded hotel in a bleak granite middle class suburb, clearly a converted domestic home into hotel with the usual clumsy 60s or 70s extension making the route to rooms like a game show in a maze. Pleasant staff, clean if tatty rooms, but dining room and bar interior decor provided by somebody who must have been on hallucinogenic *****. Apparently, according to my local friends, the food here is excellent but the grim decor put us off and we ate in town. It’s ok, and reasonably priced. But four stars it most certain is not.

A very disappointing visit as have used previously. Room (20) very tired. The room itself was OK but the heating did not come on in the evening or morning. Toilet a real let down with soap dish in the shower hanging off the wall. No toilet role holder and a few bits of black mould here and there on the tiles. Breakfast nice but bacon VERY salty . Staff nice especially for breakfast. Will need to think very hard if I will use again. Not worth the price. For the same price Malmaison one block away but sadly full.

Really the most consistent dining experience in Aberdeen ! My husband and I go here quite regularly and the quality is always good. The menu caters for all customers and is fresh produce and well sourced meats! The staff hardly changes and therefore a good relationship with regular customers and they are lovely . All in all a good eating place in Aberdeen and pat on the back to Gordon and his staff for looking after us well!

Once again a Scottish hotel where the elevator doesn't reach every floor. If you are staying in the back rooms, you have to take the life up a floor, walk several hallways, go down a flight of stairs and then to your room. Not easy with a lot of luggage. It seems to be the thing with older buildings turned into hotels. The room was basic, but clean and for the most part comfortable. The exception was the mattress, it should have been thrown out several years ago. I ended up putting throw pillows under it to keep the slope being so bad I almost fell out of bed. The restaurant and bar were both very nice, with very good service. I would give the service staff an A+. The meals were OK. Omelet isn't one, but scrambled eggs left too cook until they were burnt and then flipped to burn the other side. Roast beef was tasty, but tough. My over easy egg was cooked until hard. I would give the cooks a C-. They did have ample parking which isn't easy to find in Scotland.

Very enjoyable stay. Room nice and ultra clean. Bathroom needing a wee refresh (plaster off ceiling and dirty grout). Great breakfast served by extra attentive staff. Nice car park although was busy with dinner guests. Overall will use again and would recommend. NB a wee bit out from the city centre.

We stayed here while visiting my dad in the ARI. The hotel is only 5 mins drive from the hospital which was really convenient. The hotel building itself is beautiful! The rooms were clean and comfortable with a lovely en-suite bathroom. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel, both were superb! Freshly cooked generous breakfast set us up for the day. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

The hotel is very well run . Professional staff which were kind and efficient . The breakfast was amazing and so was the evening meal . Rooms were clean and serviced each day with new towels etc. wonderful experience all round . Great Hotel for events also .

Discovered hotel in 2021 and have stayed there four times since. It is out go to hotel when visiting family in Aberdeen. Staff are brilliant, so friendly and helpful - we found they couldn’t do enough to help. We had a couple of minor issues which they resolved very quickly. Rooms a little small but we are hardly in the room. They were clean with good amenities including tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water. We always ask for a room in quiet part of hotel and always get this too. Bathrooms decent size and shower excellent. Body wash and shampoo provided - but a minor gripe is that whilst they provide shampoo, they do not provide conditioner which is unusual in a hotel - but this was not enough to lower our rating. Breakfast was very nice - the hot food is cooked fresh to order, and they adapted the menu for us. We asked for poached egg instead of fried and they were more than willing to accommodate. We will keep going back to the Atholl for our annual visit as it is now our go to.
