The Craibstone Suites

The room we stayed in was clean and although very small for a suite was Ok for a short stay Kitchen was basic and Ok for a couple of nights, however I like to cook but there wasn't enough basic utensils if you wanted to cook, no mugs just 2 small coffee cups, no jug for mixing,and 2 tiny bowls which weren't big enough for soup or cereal and one pyrex dish and no coffee machine. There were 4 tea bags and 4 instant coffee sachets but no milk, salt and pepper, or anything else which you would normally find in a suite with cooking facilities. As we were only staying 2 nights the lack of utensils wasn't a big problem but still annoying The shower and bath were good and the bed and pillows comfortable. Our biggest problem was that it was very cold outside and on entering the room it was absolutely freezing, there was one small radiator in the living area and a bigger one in the kitchen area both these had been turned off completely and the towel rail in bathroom the same. When the heating was turned on the larger radiator in kitchen was obviously needing bled as it was only warm at the bottom and full of air at top I reported this and a person came later and bled the radiator. We had to keep our coats on for a while as the room only warmed up after around 4 hours The forecast during our stay was for freezing weather and snow and the property was aware of our arrival time and had a receptionist on duty when we arrived and knew which room we were renting out I would have thought that knowing how cold it was outside someone would have at least turned the heating on even if at a low setting to take the chill off the room The apartment is only 10 mins walk from the main Train and Bus stations and there are lots of eating and drinking places nearby, so wel'll placed and close to the City Centre Apart from the poorly appointed kitchen and freezing room on arrival, our stay was Ok for what we wanted but the price paid for the small room and facilities was only reasonable value for money compared to other properties in the area

This was a great discovery for me as I normally stay in standard hotels . Neat, tidy and clean in a central location, this was a really quiet apartment that was well appointed and equipped with things that made my short stay very comfortable. Well done.

My was delightful. Such thoughtful accessories, shampoo, body wash, fluffy towels, and the kitchenette was fully stocked. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were quite fluffy. It was quiet and calm all night. The staff were so helpful and gave directions and answered questions

Great little suite with kitchenette and balcony, had everything you would want for an overnight stay. Extremely clean. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff on reception. Only complaints are the hefty deposit you are asked to front at the same time as payment, which I’ve never required to do with any hotel booking before, the fridge door shelf was not wide enough to hold a bottle of Prosecco once opened, and the balcony fencing was too high for me to see over to gain any view. Otherwise, cracking central location and very much enjoyed having a little outside space. Would definitely return!

Location is great, central for walkabout, solo suite on top has great view, clean with modern facilities including WiFi, personal touch from Laura highly appreciated, well done thank you, overall a painless experience, will use again and recommend.

We’ve stayed at the Cranston’s Suites before, earlier in the year and thought it was great! This time not so much. We checked in on Friday the 8th of Dec and everything seemed fine, we were room 103, apart from an odd trickling sound coming from the radiators. We were heading straight out, once we returned and had gotten to bed the sound became unbearable and continued all through the night. This resulted in me emailing the reception at 7.22am on Saturday as I couldn’t sleep due to the noise. I also videoed the sound with the intention off attaching it once someone had gotten back to me, I requested if someone could please look at it or if we could be moved room. On Saturday we were out all day more or less but whenever we were there there was no one at reception to speak to. So another night with the sound was endured on Saturday!! Anyway I have to say from being pretty impressed we left very disappointed and confused as to why we never got a reply, it’s leading me to think they have missed the email. The radiator in 103 need looking at it and I wouldn’t risk spending the amount we did having to endure that again and have no one there to deal with the issue. Will look elsewhere in the future.
