Super bad hotel. Check-in turned out to be in the basement, in a small alley near the hotel. There is no heating in the room, only electric heating, and the shower head is very old. Alleys, basements, very unsafe!

The main reason is that the sound insulation effect of the room is average, and the people next door can feel clearly when opening and closing the door and walking in the corridor. It happened that we needed to go to bed early on Friday night because we had to catch an early Saturday morning flight, and Aberdeen people like to go to bars late on that Friday night. I was disturbed by the people next door coming and going, so I didn’t sleep good. Everything else is perfect, and the hotel service staff is also very enthusiastic, answering every question. The hotel is located in the city center, 3 minutes walk from the train station, and there are many convenience stores around.

Positives are that’s it’s really central ,that’s where it ends! The room is from the time warp, carpets manky, broken lights and not worth paying anything more than £40 at the most ( I was had!). This is no more than a hostel. The bathroom is a cupboard in most hotels and the fan in the bathroom was noisy as hell, the beds are like laying on an ironing board ( Top tip, there is an Iron in the room so just use the bed as the board. The noise from the bars and corridors….,OMFG. If staying the weekend, don’t expect any sleep before 1-2am unless you are there for the party. There is only 1 double socket in the room, so if you are unfortunate enough to have booked this hole, you will need a multi plug! Avoid at all costs and pay a few quid extra for somewhere nicer with Breakfast included and avoid paying the £15 per person extra!! If wanting a doss house, it’s ideal

Excellent location 1 block from the port, Maritime Museum, bus and train stations. Good restaurant, beautiful rooms, attentive staff. We were here three nights; the hotel and staff certainly added to our enjoyment of this important maritime city.

I just stayed with my mum for a night and picked it based on how close it is to the rail station. It's also right near the major pedestrian thoroughfare and convenient to the water, so great location. Very good breakfast included, and the staff was very helpful and patient in making reservations. Only minor issue was the mattress, which might be due for a replacement.

If comfort or peace are important, forget it. Windows block very little noise, and the bed feels like a stiff sofa. Two pillow options: One feels like a tough sofa cushion, the other is like lying on a crumpled hoodie. Awful stay. I’ve stayed in a £25 travelodge room and been far more comfortable! Room is very small, no temperature control at all - window open means absolutely no peace, window closed means you’re sweating. In case you think I’m being fussy; I’ve never left a review for a hotel. Yet I’ve never found a room so uncomfortable before, and felt I had to leave a warning/review.

The hotel is in a great location with a lovely art deco facade. Its right in the middle of all the land and sea based transport hubs and also very near all the biggest shopping centers. Rooms are slightly dated but beds are comfy and staff friendly. Food both breakfast in the hotel and evening meal in the connected bar/restaurant is of a good quality and decent portion size. Breakfast is buffet style and ingredients are of good to medium quality. All in all a good place to stay for a break/visit but would benefit from a complete refurb/moderniseation process

We had an excellent two night stay at The Aberdeen Douglas. We stayed in a spacious suite that was excellent value for money. The hotel is a five minute walk from the bus and train stations and also the ferry to Orkney and Shetland. Thoroughly recommended.
