We loved the view from the room, Sakura Island was just in front of us and we could actually see smoke coming out of its crater which was pretty awesome. The pools were also nice and the traditional restaurant near the lobby had some great Japanese food. The service was excellent, too. The only downside was that the bus stop is a bit far and walking to it in the middle of summer isn’t pleasant. But a taxi to the main train station costs around ¥1,800 which isn’t bad.

The staff members were very hospitable. Check in was fast and Jeffrey gave us detailed explanation of the facilities of the hotel. He also greeted us every time he met us in the lobby. While the renovation in the room is old fashioned, it is kept clean. We were very lucky that we had good view of Sakurajima during our two days stay. Breakfast in the lobby cafe and dinner in the Japanese restaurant were good.

We love this hotel so much. The breakfast is so yummy and the bed is very comfortable too. The hot spring is superb. The view is beautiful even if rainy weather.

They not only demonstrate the highest level of professionalism but also their genuine care of the well being of the customers. The location is convenient, the hotel is clean and well-organized, and the level of hygiene is high. There is a dedicated person responsible for cleaning from time to time. The room is large enough, the facilities are sufficient, and the staff are friendly and courteous.

All the hotel staff were very polite and kind. The rooms were spacious, clean, well-equipped, and well-furnished, and the beds were comfortable. Coffee beans and grinders were provided, so I was able to enjoy freshly brewed coffee in the morning. I was traveling alone and was looking for a hotel with a hot spring. It was close to the station, had a hot spring, and was great for the price. Typical Japanese-style room, beautiful view outside the window. The camellia in the hotel is in full bloom. Akamatsuyu is great. I saw it twice during my stay at the hotel. It was a pleasant surprise. It was snowing, and it was wonderful to soak in the hot spring in the snow. The meal was also good. In order to not have to look for food around, I decisively decided to stay there and have two meals. Dinner was Kaiseki cuisine. I always thought I had a big appetite. Good guy. I'm so full of this meal! Although the portions are small, they add up to a small amount 😂😂. The breakfast is also good and beautiful, but the soup is not good, it is too salty. You can have a cup of coffee after eating☕️. The single hot spring room can be used by families or couples alone. There is a shopping street next to it, so those who want to buy things can have multiple choices.

Beautiful view, near sand bath, free amenity bar (limited to two pieces per person), the room is quite large, the facilities are not new but clean. Open-air hot springs look at the sea. The breakfast tastes good, but the plate is exquisite, many side dishes and drinks are available. The hotel also has free coffee and detox water, recommended.

The cleaning lady suddenly opened the door with a key and came in to make a blanket for me while I was still in the room, which scared me. (Japanese inn service habits?) I first chose this hot spring hotel because it was close to the Sand Sand Hall so I could try Ibusuki's famous black sand bath. But it turns out that this hotel is also quite comfortable. The room size is not large, just stayed for 3 people, the room has no bathroom, there is a large bath on the 5th floor, and there is an open-air hot spring on the 1st floor. As a hot spring hotel, the equipment is relatively general, the sea view is good and beautiful, and the dinner is better, but the service is average. I went to ask the jr and bus in the center of Kagoshima the next day. The front desk was not clear. I checked them and told them that I would take us to the bus stop. The whole service was warm, but the news was not complete. Compared with the Wudao Hot Spring, the service is not meticulous.

Let me start with the conclusion: the hotel is good, but trip.com is bad. I booked a non-smoking room, but trip.com reported that the hotel had a smoking room. When I checked in, I found that the room smelled very heavy of smoke, so I discussed it with the hotel. At that time, the hotel showed me that the reservation document from trip.com showed a smoking room, which was exactly the opposite of the screenshot of my reservation for a non-smoking room. The hotel also said that there were no similar non-smoking rooms available and they could only give me a larger double room. I don't want to take advantage of this. It's obviously trip.com's fault, but the hotel has to bear it. Therefore, I wrote down the experience truthfully. I don’t know whether this review will be published, because I didn’t reply to the online conversation on trip.com at that time, so it was left alone. Once again, the hotel is very good, but please think carefully about whether you need to book through trip.com.
