JJackierispAs a couple, we found Maison Manege a perfect place to stay in central Bordeaux. Easy walking distance to the centre yet very peaceful. Stylish bedroom with large comfortable bed and crisp linen. We arrived a bit early and it was raining but the lovely friendly lady who cleans told us our room was ready and let us in..thank you! It's very useful to have access to a kitchen and the other communal areas too. I would highly recommend Maison Manege to anyone who appreciates high standards of accommodation but doesn't require or want to pay for the usua high endl city centre hotel offerings.

How to describe this? It’s a tall corner building with a fairly narrow staircase leading up to ( I think ) 3 bedrooms, one on each floor. We occupied the first and 2nd floors and I didn’t look any higher! The rooms were large and stylishly decorated. The toilet is open to the room, albeit tucked discreetly into a corner, so I think you’d want to be a good friend of your travelling companion. The rooms themselves were very comfortable ( though I would have liked extra pillows and as the host isn’t on site I couldn’t ask), and the place itself is well situated. An easy walk into the city centre and near some good bars and restaurants. Continental breakfast was absolutely fine. Taxi from Bordeaux airport cost us £50. Tram back cost less than £7 for all 4 of us. The tram stop is very near and straightforward ( change line at Porte Bourgogne) so that’s what I would recommend.
