Au Manoir de la rue Merry

This spectacular B & B is hosted by a very friendly and accommodating couple. The breakfast is beautiful and very filling with an appetizer, homemade toast and jam, followed by a different main breakfast each day. We had waffles covered with a variety of fruit with maple syrup and real whipped cream one day for example. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Everything is super clean. There a nice backyard with table and chairs , loungers, Adirondack chairs ,fire feature, swimming pool and a water fountain feature with gold fish, it is very relaxing. Also there are many great restaurants and activity's within walking distance. The park and beach on gorgeous Lake Memphramagog are very close. There is a safe bike path through the nearby park. The streets also have wide bike paths that are well marked. There’s a brunch or dinner cruise ship that provides a 3 hour tour of the lake in walking distance. Magog is a great place to stay and we highly recommend staying at Au Manoir De La Rue Merry B & B!

We went to celebrate my birthday in this amazing place. From the first step we were treated with attention and care. The chef aroma made extinguished custom made vegan rissoto. The maître d’hôtel goes above and beyond his call of duty to make things happen. If you you are looking for a place to celebrate life and live, don’t go further. This is the ONE.
Hôtel Chéribourg

Stayed here as a family of 4, my son having joined us after our stay at the nearby Manoir des Sables as a family of 3. We chose to switch to the Hotel Cheribourg for the 2 floor family room with sofa bed and our stay at the Manoir des Sables was so awful that our first thought upon entering our room at the Cheribourg was that we should have stayed there the whole time instead – BUT our opinion changed rather quickly! There was no issue with needing parking for 2 cars. I had already thought to ask for extra towels while checking in (the family room originally only had towels for 2) The Wi-Fi password was visible at the reception desk, and we were provided with a little pamphlet outlining the on-site activities. No info on the on-site restaurant or their menu, no info on the supposed included access to the Manoir des Sables private lake. 2 of us did a quick walk-through to locate the pools (towels were available by the indoor pool area) and game room. There’s a bar area by the outdoor pool but it was rather cold and drizzling when we were there, so it wasn’t staffed (not sure if it normally is), and the outdoor pool was deserted. Because of the drizzle we didn’t adventure to check out the petting zoo. The room was carpeted but the bathroom had been renovated and was clean. The sliding bathroom door was a pain to lock, a small wood handle had been added as an afterthought. The cable-only tv (no smart technology) had several channels. Things started to go downhill when we realised that to be able to open up the sofa bed, we’d need to move the tv stand – the room is poorly thought out, the sofa bed should really be on the wall where the chair is – guest shouldn’t be expected to move actual furniture to use the room! Further, with the sofa bed open, and with the tv stand pushed aside, it’s hard for anyone to access the bathroom. At about 3AM my husband and I were woken by a repetitive tapping sound, we couldn’t locate the source and eventually fell back asleep until it woke us again at around 6AM – this time we figured out that the sound was coming from WATER LEAKING IN THROUGH THE WALL-MOUNTED AIR CONDITIONING UNIT AND SOAKING THE BED DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH IT, the same bed where my daughter was sleeping! Who knows how many times this had happened before and what condition that mattress must be in! We were packed, checked out, and on our way to breakfast by 7AM – the clerk at the counter said she’d have maintenance take care of it, but no compensation for the inconvenience was offered. She probably isn’t authorised to do anything herself, but the overall lack of care and pro-active customer service by both the Cheribourg and the Manoir des Sables (owned by the same company) that we stayed at is very disappointing.
Hôtel - Expérience - Quartier des Marinas

The hotel is new and the rooms are large with full kitchens. Very pleasant room. Friendly staff. And there’s garage parking which is undoubtedly great during the winter. Loved the large balcony. I know that there are different room types. We stayed in one with one bedroom and another room with a bed and a sofa bed. The location in Magog is in downtown near restaurants, grocery, and a short drive to some activities. And it’s kind of central to the townships so it’s easy enough to visit other towns to experience it. I would definitely stay here again for a relaxing vacation away from the everyday. Hiking, kayaking, biking, lots of local artisans. And don’t miss the library that’s in the US and Canada.
Lee Farm Inn

When you leave a place wishing you had more time to spend there, you know your stay has been a great one and you will be back! This sums up how we felt about the Lee Farm Inn. In all honesty when we booked it we were drawn to the history and beauty of the property, but concerned it might be too much off of the beaten track. This was definitely not the case and after spending a few hectic days exploring the area, we were happy to return to the quietness of the Inn and the village. Laura and Fred have found the right formula of being great hosts but also giving their guests their space. We appreciated the lovely breakfasts, the spotless rooms, and the thought that has gone in to providing a comfortable experience for their guests. (Loved having coffee available at 7am!) We stayed in the William Lee room and were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend and return!
Ripplecove Hotel & Spa

Loved our room overlooking lake. Pool overlooking lake also great, though would prefer it a few degrees warmer! Restaurant was excellent. Loved our chocolate making experience with pastry chef. Renting the hotel’s Pontoon boat for a ride around lake was also a must. So many great things to do in the area. Wish they had a more refined list of farm experiences, and would be great if the hotel would arranged vip farm visits to places like le station cheesemaker and others, so guests could get a behind the scenes look at the workings of local farms and artisinal producers as this is a big part of what makes the area special. Highly recommend!
