Booked this using the Accor website as we stay in Ibis and their associated hotels around the world and are members. We’d just come from a São Paulo Ibis which was brilliant. Not so here. Firstly, the rooms are similar sized but weirdly laid out with the bed against the wall one side. The TV (which we didn’t use) is against the other side wall. Quite how on earth you’re supposed to watch tv from your bed is beyond me. Also, in São Paulo we had Netflix. Not available here I’m afraid. There’s no mattress protector (or on the pillows) on the mattress so the bedsheet sits directly on a mattress which someone else’s sweaty body’s been. Unhygienic I’m afraid, I didn’t look because I wouldn’t have been able to sleep on the bed if I’d seen anything horrible. We didn’t sleep on this but slept on top of the duvet on the bed. The duvet cover had a rip in it on the top. The bedsheets; supposed to be white are grey. We booked for 3 nights just to see what Santos was like and thought we’d book more nights if ness. Asked at reception and receptionist said we could have Friday night for 260reals but she’d go and check whether Saturday and Sunday was available. She came back and showed me a price. It seems that within the matter of 5 minutes the price for Friday night had doubled and the Saturday night had gone to 650Reals. We told her no thanks and found somewhere else on the seafront. The front reception area is unkempt as is the front entrance. I’d like to say the staff are cheery and welcoming but I can’t. After the negative above, the room is clean and is cleaned daily.

I was in São Paulo and decided to go to Santos for the weekend and stayed at the Sheraton. It was one of the best decisions I made. The hotel is really nice. The location, the rooms, the restaurant...all really perfect. I was helped at check in by Dayana, a very friendly and professional lady. The rooms are big, clean and modern. Breakfast was great. We went to the lobby bar for drinks and a bite. They have the most delicious pastel de nata I ever ate in my life. Daniel, Thiago and Izaias were really nice. Their service level is sky high. I also like to mention Hellen , the great host at the breakfast and lobby bar. Also so helpful and friendly. It was always a pleasure to see her. They all made our stay perfect. Across the hotel there is a big shopping mall and the beach is like 2 blocks away. When we left, Dayana came personally to the door to say bye to us and wish us a safe trip back home. That was really nice. I will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it. Greetings, Frans

Very well located on Gonzaga beach, with many restaurant and entertainment options nearby. Also provides easy access to the main roads leading to other beaches such as those off the North Coast (~1.5h away). Only downside is the parking, which is a separate company from the hotel. It is a valet parking, so it can be quite time consuming during peak hours such as ~9AM, when the guests at both Ibis and Mercure are leaving to the beach. Waiting time to pay for the parking and receiving your car can easily reach 30min.

The hotel is good but well disorganized, staff do what they can but needs a lot of maintenance. Although all rooms are of the same size, they all vary as the decor and items available, excellent breakfast, small swimming pool and amazing views. The worst negative point for my family was the disorganization of the booking management, we paid the value of stays months before hosting, because it was in the period of the reveillon, at the arrival the reception did not inform that the booking had not been paid, My sister had a copy of the evidence and let us go up. In the checkout the same distressing situation happened, the receptionist did not find the booking payment and said the hotel was not available on the platform we used to book. It was all right at the end, but no one likes to pass through this kind of constraint.

The hotel has new facilities and is well located. The service from the reception and restaurant staff is excellent and very fast. We had a problem with cleaning, the room wasn't exactly clean when we arrived and there were stains on the sheets suggesting they hadn't been changed. The pool is on the roof, but it is not very big and there is not much space for sunbathing. Despite being heated, it was very cold in our accommodation and very dirty.
