We loved our stay there, the pub feels warm & friendly. Our room was spacious & had a lot of old world charm, the staff are super friendly, happy to chat & extremely helpful. We had an issue with our hot water & the staff fixed it straight away, thankyou Kristen you are a gem!. :-)

The room is larger than I expected. All the hotels were kind and polite. I think it is a good location for those who go for the first time. Breakfast was very good.

Ten Dollar Town Motel
4.4/562 Reviews
We had stayed at this Motel a couple of times before. So coming thro again, I knew where we would stay. Booked a twin room incl breakfast for $143 for 1 night. I did not realise this until I came to do the review. We were allocated Room 10. Its a very nice double room with parking out the front. It has a kitchenette incl sink. Induction stove, microwave & enough cooking utensils to cook some dinner if you felt like doing so. We were going out to dinner, however, & breakfast is provided, so no cooking for us. Air con & ceiling fan & electric blanket on the bed. Everything is in good working order wifi works well & there is a tv. The windows are openable, which I always really like. The ensuite is smallish & the shower has a rain shower head. There is a retractible clothes line too, which is an excellent idea for those on a longer road trip. The motel located right in town with easy walking to eating places for dinner. Breakfast is complementary with the room. It is held in the restaurant Larsens across the road from 7am. It is very generous & incl a choice of poached eggs & bacon & tomato, baked beans, savoury mince or cereal, yogurt fruit & a coffee, tea hot choc or juice, all served by pleasant staff. You can choose more, but that comes with a reasonable price tag. We chose the lighter choice of cereal, yogurt & fruit, which was excellent. Even though the motel is located on a corner & right in town, it was very quiet & we slept well. This motel still represents very good value given the complementary breakfast & the very comfortable room. It did not matter to us that the bed configuration was not what I booked.
Birches Mudgee

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Birches B&B again after two years, and could not have been more delighted with our return visit. Everything was just as we remembered, immaculately detailed, spotlessly clean, and as pristine and well-kept as ever. Pam and David, the owners, and hosts, were their usual bright, accommodating, and delightful selves offering the very best of local knowledge, and always on hand to make terrific recommendations and suggestions. Having the owners on-site is becoming a thing of the past, and being met at the front door and shown around, (instead of receiving a text message and pin code), feels personal, reassuring, and welcoming, a special point of differentiation at Birches. Even though Pam and David are close by, they are very unobtrusive and thoroughly respect the privacy of their guests, a fine balance they have mastered. They are also very well connected and involved in the local community, and that puts them ‘in the know,’ so two more friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable ambassadors for the Mudgee region you could not hope to find. Another part of the beauty of staying at Birches, is being able to retire to the privacy of your own gorgeous room (and spacious ensuite), after unwinding with friends or family in the comfort and luxury of the sunken lounge room and fireplace. The cooked to order breakfasts are truly delicious and plentiful, and Pam and David will definitely make sure you don’t go hungry, (make sure you check out the toaster it is the cleanest one you will ever see!), a testimony to the eye for detail and meticulous nature of two proud and classy hosts. Birches is located in a beautiful upmarket residential area of Mudgee, and is so well positioned, being in walking distance to the town, cafes, and a winery or two. We can't wait for our next trip back to Birches, where we know we will be welcomed with open arms, and where we definitely plan to stay and linger for a little longer.
