The Dubai Metro is one of the easiest ways to travel around Dubai, especially if you want to visit popular attractions without spending too much on taxis. It connects major areas such as Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Deira and Dubai International Airport.
If you are visiting Dubai for the first time, understanding the Dubai Metro Map will help you choose the right train, find the nearest stations and avoid unnecessary transfers. This guide covers the Red and Green Lines, ticket prices, operating hours and useful travel tips for Filipino travellers.
Dubai Metro Map Overview

You can also check the official Dubai Metro and Tram map from Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The Dubai Metro currently operates two main lines: the Red Line and Green Line. Both lines connect at Union and BurJuman stations, making it convenient to travel between different parts of the city.
| Metro Line | Route | Main Areas Covered |
|---|---|---|
Red Line | Centrepoint ↔ Expo 2020 / Life Pharmacy | Dubai Airport, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Mall of the Emirates |
Green Line | e& ↔ Creek | Deira, Gold Souq, Bur Dubai, Dubai Healthcare City |
Interchange Stations | Union and BurJuman | Transfer between Red and Green Lines |
📝 Note: The Dubai Metro Blue Line is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2029. It is not part of the current operating metro network.

Dubai Metro Red Line
The Red Line is the most useful route for tourists because it connects Dubai International Airport with major shopping centres, hotels and attractions.
It runs from Centrepoint towards two destinations, Expo 2020 and Life Pharmacy. The route branches at National Paints Metro Station, so passengers should check the train's destination before boarding.
Major Red Line stations:
- Centrepoint (R11): One of the Red Line's terminal stations.
- Airport Terminal 3 (R13): Direct access to Dubai International Airport Terminal 3.
- Airport Terminal 1 (R14): Convenient for passengers arriving at Terminal 1.

The Green Line is useful for exploring the older parts of Dubai, including traditional markets, historic neighbourhoods and areas around Dubai Creek.
It operates between e& and Creek stations, with connections to the Red Line at Union and BurJuman.
Major Green Line stations:

Dubai Metro Map: Best Stations for Tourist Attractions
Many of Dubai's popular attractions are accessible by metro, although some require a short walk or an additional transport connection.
| Tourist Attraction | Nearest Useful Metro Station | Line |
|---|---|---|
Burj Khalifa | Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall | Red |
Dubai Mall | Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall | Red |
Museum of the Future | Emirates Towers | Red |
Mall of the Emirates | Mall of the Emirates | Red |
Dubai Marina | Sobha Realty / DMCC | Red |
Jumeirah Beach Residence | DMCC, then Dubai Tram | Red + Tram |
Dubai Gold Souk | Gold Souq | Green |

How to Read the Dubai Metro Map
The Dubai Metro Map is relatively simple because there are only two operating metro lines. The most important things to check are the line colour, station name and train destination.
Identify Your Metro Line
Find your starting station and destination on the map.
- Red Line: Used for Dubai Airport, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina and Expo City Dubai.
- Green Line: Used for Deira, Gold Souq, Bur Dubai and Dubai Creek.
Check the Train Direction
Before boarding, look at the destination displayed on the train or platform screen.
The Red Line has two branches towards Expo 2020 and Life Pharmacy. Make sure you board the correct train if your destination is beyond National Paints.
Find the Interchange Stations
If your journey requires both the Red and Green Lines, transfer at:
- Union Metro Station
- BurJuman Metro Station
You can change between these lines without leaving the paid metro area.
Check the Travel Zones
Dubai's public transport network is divided into seven fare zones. Your ticket price depends on how many zones you travel through, rather than the number of stations.
💡 Pro Tip: Download the RTA S'hail app before your trip. It can help you plan metro, tram and bus journeys, including connections between stations.
Dubai Metro Ticket Prices and Fares
Dubai Metro uses the nol card system. Passengers must have a valid nol card or ticket to enter and exit the station gates.
The fare depends on the number of zones travelled and the type of ticket or card used.
Dubai Metro Fare Table
| Travel Zones | Silver nol Card | Gold Class | Red Ticket (Regular) |
|---|---|---|---|
Within 1 zone | AED 3 | AED 6 | AED 4 |
Across 2 adjacent zones | AED 5 | AED 10 | AED 6 |
More than 2 zones | AED 7.50 | AED 15 | AED 8.50 |
Fares are in UAE dirhams (AED). Gold Class prices shown are for the Gold nol Card. Red Ticket Gold Class fares are different.
