What is Holy Week?

Holy Week

Holy Week is the week before Easter Sunday and remembers the final days of Jesus Christ’s life. In the Philippines, many Filipinos attend church services, join religious traditions, and spend time reflecting with family. It is also one of the busiest travel periods of the year as many people return to their home provinces.

Tradition / Day

What Happens

Palm Sunday

Start of Holy Week. People bring palm leaves to church to be blessed.

Holy Thursday

Special masses are held. Many people visit several churches in one night, called Visita Iglesia.

Good Friday

The most solemn day. Processions are held and the Seven Last Words reflection is often broadcast from 12 PM to 3 PM.

Black Saturday

A quiet day of prayer and reflection before Easter.

Easter Sunday

Celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. Many churches hold the Salubong early in the morning.

Pabasa

A continuous chanting of the life of Jesus, often held in communities during Holy Week.

Popular Holy Week Traditions

Holy Week

During Holy Week, you may see many traditions across the Philippines. These practices show the strong faith and community spirit of many Filipinos.

  • Visita Iglesia: Families or groups visit several churches in one evening to pray, usually on Holy Thursday.
  • Processions: Many towns hold large religious processions, especially on Good Friday. People walk through the streets carrying statues of saints and scenes from the life of Jesus. The Santo Entierro, a statue of the dead Christ placed in a glass casket, is often the highlight.
  • Pabasa: Communities hold the Pabasa, a continuous chanting of the Pasyón, which tells the story of Jesus’ life and sacrifice. It may last for many hours or even days.
  • Senakulo: Some towns perform a Senakulo, a live street play that shows the Passion of Christ. These performances can draw large crowds.
  • Fasting and Simple Meals: Many Filipinos avoid meat on Good Friday and eat simple food such as fish, vegetables, or traditional snacks like biko, suman, and binignit.
  • Quiet Reflection: Some families stay at home, pray together, or watch religious programs on TV.

Different regions celebrate Holy Week in their own way, so travelers may experience different traditions depending on where they visit.

🏨 Pro Tip: Book your hotel early during Holy Week, as many popular destinations can fill up quickly during this busy travel period.

Why Filipinos Travel During Holy Week

Holy Week gives many Filipinos several days off from work and school, so it becomes one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

  • Returning to hometowns
Many people travel back to their provinces to spend time with family and attend church activities together.
  • Family vacations
Some families plan short trips to popular beach destinations like Boracay, Cebu, and Bohol.
  • Taking a break from the city
Travelers from busy cities like Manila often head to cooler places such as Baguio or Sagada to relax.
  • Time for reflection and rest
Others choose quiet places where they can pray, attend church events, and reflect during the Holy Week period.
💡 Travel Tip: The biggest travel rush is on Holy Wednesday and Maundy Thursday, with many people returning on Easter Sunday or Monday. Expect heavy traffic and crowded terminals.

The overall stay was comfortable, and the staff were courteous and accommodating. However, the internet connection was quite unstable throughout my stay, which made it difficult to work and stay connected. Given how essential reliable Wi-Fi is for both business and leisure travelers, this is an area that would benefit from improvement. Additionally, it would be great if the hotel could consider upgrading the televisions to smart TVs. This would enhance the guest experience by allowing access to streaming services and more personalized entertainment options. I hope these suggestions can be considered to further improve future stays.

The location is excellent, and the sky pool is very photogenic. The ground floor pool is a bit small and not as good as other Henann pools. We had to pay an extra charge for a rollaway bed for our 10-year-old child.

The staff are very accommodating. Front desk officers are polite and neat looking. Pool is kind of heated. Its not cold but maybe because of the hot weather. Medyo matapang lang yung chlorine kaya nag react yung skin ko but over all the place is relaxing, walk to the beach is ok. Nice staff even si kuya guard. Restaurant staff are friendly also, Chef looks serious but friendly. Thank you chef for cooking us bacon for breakfast since its not included on the buffet, hehehe! Kuddos to you Henann Lagoon. Will definitely recommend this to my family and friends. Good job everyone!

Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay, along with Shangri-La and Crimson, boasts an exclusive white sand beach. The main advantage is the peace and quiet, allowing guests to fully unwind and enjoy a truly relaxing 'lie-flat' vacation. The downside is its somewhat remote location. While you can book the hotel's shuttle service for transport, the frequency is limited. **Area:** Not particularly large, centered around the pool, with the beach accessible directly from the pool area. **Rooms:** Considering the room quality and size, they don't quite justify the price. They're comparable to blue-ocean hotels but significantly more expensive, and the overall hotel area is smaller, making it poor value for money. Its main selling point is undoubtedly the private beach. Near the Crimson area, there are reefs where you can try snorkeling. There are fish, though nothing large, and I even saw a moray eel – a nice little activity you can enjoy without having to go out on a boat. There are private small boats for rent at 300 pesos, which are great for a ride, and watching the sunset from the sea is absolutely stunning; the ocean here is incredibly beautiful. In the afternoon, there are often some dance activities on the beach that you can join, and from 3-4 PM, the restaurant offers afternoon tea, perfect for re-energizing before continuing your water activities.

We stayed briefly before transferring different hotel but we enjoyed our short stay! Very accessible to the main road and also has white beach access beside kfc in station 2. Designated parasols on white beach too like other hennan hotels in the area. We tried their dinner buffet for ₱799 and it was 7/10, the steak was too rare for filipino preference but there were a lot of other main dish options. They also have fire dance performances for the guests. Breakfast buffet was 8.5/10, I liked that they have hot or iced options for coffee and chocolate. Overall a great stay.

Was an absolutely amazing stay! Just please note that you do need to pay PH10000 deposit when you arrive. We did not know this prior and was quite inconvenient. The location is excellent, 5min walk to everything. The beach had amazing night life activities. There is a Jollibee and mcdonalds around the corner and they're open 24/7. The breakfast offered at the hotel is world class. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Would highly recommend!!!!!

The Property & Ambiance True to its name, the resort feels like a massive botanical garden. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, filled with lush greenery, towering trees, and vibrant tropical flowers that instantly make you feel relaxed. Walking through the pathways to your room feels like exploring a hidden paradise. Amenities & Pools One of the biggest highlights is the pool selection. They have multiple expansive swimming pools, complete with fun water slides and shallow splash areas that are absolutely perfect for families. The main pool area is surrounded by trees, offering plenty of natural shade when the midday sun gets a bit too intense. Rooms & Service The rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained. The air conditioning works wonderfully, and the beds are incredibly comfortable after a long day of swimming and island hopping. What truly sets this resort apart, though, is the hospitality. From the front desk to the pool attendants, the staff goes above and beyond with their warm hospitality and ready smiles. The Verdict Whether you are traveling as a couple looking for a serene getaway or a family wanting great amenities for the kids, Paradise Garden delivers. Excellent location, beautiful green surroundings, fantastic pools, and top-tier service. We will definitely be back!

I can’t say enough nice things about this hotel. I was due to stay for 1 week but due to the 2 typhoons hitting my next 2 islands badly, I decided to extend my stay up to 3 weeks. My pool view room was great. Purified water in my room daily. Complimentary swimwear drying if needed, microwave and fridge, kettle etc. the location is fantastic, on station 3, straight out onto the beach in the hub of everything but also quiet to sleep at night. The beach and water was particularly nice right outside. After the typhoons, some debris got washed up onto the beach for a couple of days but everyone pitched in and cleaned it straight away. The very best thing about this hotel though is the staff. They are so incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much bother and theres no agenda either, not looking for tips but grateful if you give them one. They knew my name, my room number, went out of the way to check I was ok. The pools and the whole hotel were constantly cleaned. I actually cried when I had to leave. The staff even gathered in reception to see me off.It felt like home & I will go back again one day soon!

PERFECT FOR PEOPLE WORKING REMOTELY! 60-75MPBS CLEANLINESS – Housekeeping cleans the room daily, although the floor mat and bedding may not always be replaced after every cleaning. They change the towels, toiletries, and bottled water register. LOCATION – 15 minutes drive from the main area, but the hotel offers free shuttle service to/from Station 2 Jollibee D’Mall every 30 minutes. During drop-off, you can request to be dropped along the way just inform the driver. If you prefer quieter and less crowded beach area just stay in Savoy which we personally loved because it was clean and peaceful. Walking there takes around 5minutes or less and I think Belmont is closer to the beach area. The only issue is walking to the beach may not be PWD or senior-friendly, so it’s better to request assistance from the front desk for a ride to the beach coast area. SERVICE – 1000000/10! The staff were incredibly accommodating, warm, and friendly throughout our stay. AMENITIES – Great pool, excellent gym area, and I absolutely loved their breakfast selection. The WiFi was also reliable and fast — we never encountered any internet issues during our stay.

This property situated in a hill in Boracay has a beautiful view of Boracay's not-so-famous spots. Also a good view for breakfast. The in-room amenities are pretty standard, similar to what you'd find in a 1000+ RMB per night hotel back home – nothing special, nothing bad, just average. The 2300 RMB per night price mainly covers the hotel's private beach, services (kids' club, with daily craft classes and occasional pool parties), and the public facilities (three pools, including a kids' pool). We stayed for 10 nights, and when we checked out, they provided complimentary transfer to the airport (car + speedboat + car). We only had to pay the government's environmental protection fee and island entry fee ourselves. This service was absolutely excellent! When you check out, you might want to ask if they can offer this service. If it's your first time staying and you want an airport pick-up, I recommend contacting the hotel directly, as the airport transfer fee through Ctrip for this hotel is very expensive. The hotel is next door to the Movenpick Resort, and then next to that is the Shangri-La Hotel. You might want to compare prices.

Airport transfers to and from Cardiff were seamless. After exiting the arrivals hall, turn right into the covered corridor and wait for your arrival with a sign. The service was very attentive; every staff member greeted us proactively. Room service was available. The room was fantastic, with toilets and showers on both floors, and a small outdoor pool. However! A word of caution: this room type is on the third floor, and there is no elevator. Traveling with elderly people should be approached with caution. Climbing stairs every day is exhausting, and they may not want to leave the house.

This is a wonderful hotel, exactly as described, and the photos are completely accurate. The staff is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay throughout your vacation. Any issues that arose were resolved in minutes. You can tell they truly value their reputation. Just a heads-up: payment at the hotel is cash-only. The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, beyond words. It's right in the heart of all the entertainment and leisure spots, and only a 5-minute walk to the sea. I do want to mention one significant drawback: there was a lot of noise from equipment operating near our room, which was quite unpleasant. You do get used to it over time and eventually tune it out, but it might be an important consideration for some. In the last few days of our stay, the hot water started to disappear, becoming only lukewarm, and this issue couldn't be resolved. Also, the Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working completely on our last night (Friday to Saturday) without any explanation, so we had to use mobile internet until check-out. For us, the breakfasts were a notable downside – the selection of dishes was extremely limited. Coffee was only served from a pot (likely instant), and coffee from the machine was an extra charge. However, after I brought this up, the issue with the coffee machine was resolved. For the next six breakfasts, they made complimentary machine coffee for my partner and me. Special thanks to the entire hotel team and for the lovely daily notes in our room that brightened our mood and made our vacation even more enjoyable!

Everything was great. We had a family suite with 2 rooms, 2 showers, a kitchen-living room with a table, and a veranda where you could sit. Since there were two showers in the room, we never had any issues with waiting turns))). The location is excellent, you can walk to D'Mall. Yes, it might not be beachfront, but considering that stations 2-3 were often crowded, we always ended up leaving anyway. Breakfasts were decent; you could always find something to eat. The place is just right (ground floor) for seniors like us. The room is nice and clean. However, the water has a bad smell and when reported, maintenance personnel checked it right away. We will stay at this place should we decide to go back to Boracay in the near future.

The hotel is quite worn out and, especially during holidays, not worth the money. Our room was in building B; it was spacious and quiet, making for a comfortable sleep. However, the windows faced an alley between buildings, so very little daylight entered. The air conditioning worked well but was very noisy. The internet worked fine in the lobby and on the beach, but it was very weak in the room. There are a few sun loungers and cushions on the beach, but you need to claim them by 8 AM, or even earlier. By 9 AM, everything is usually taken. The loungers don't have soft mattresses. You can get beach towels and mats from the lobby if you don't manage to get a sun lounger. There's an infinity pool on the rooftop where you can watch the sunset away from the crowds, but there are only a few loungers there too, so you also need to get there early. Breakfasts include various types of meat, scrambled eggs, rice, fruits, pastries, toast, coffee, some sweets, and vegetables. Overall, you'll be full, but everything is cooked with a lot of oil. I wouldn't recommend having lunch or dinner here or ordering food by the pool; there are many cafes and restaurants nearby where you can eat delicious food. In the evenings, there's always some entertainment at dinner, like music or a fire show. The hotel is located in the most central part of Station 2, just steps from D'Mall, with Epic and Om clubs nearby. However, for us, there were too many people, especially from sunset onwards. There were also many vendors offering their services and goods, which got annoying, and many people just strolling around or sitting on the beach. It was noisy and lacked any sense of privacy. Cleaning consists of changing towels and emptying the trash.

Had an amazing stay with my bestie here at Microtel Boracay! This hotel is located at Station 1, it's far from the crowds of Station 2. Offering a calm and private vibe right in front of the beach. The room was spacious and clean, the food was delicious, staffs are friendly and the guest service was excellent. Plus, they offer a free shuttle to D'Mall, which is super convenient. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and peaceful stay!

They went beyond my expectations. I thought it was going to be like a family run inn but I was so wrong. Upon arrival, they will offer some refreshments and hand towel which is a nice touch. Room was really cute! Attic room but it didnt feel hot. Nice bed and pillows-had a good night’s sleep here. The soundproofing is non-existent however. You can hear the families on the other rooms if they are on the hallways. Also, if people are smoking in the general areas, the smoke smell can get it your room which pissed me off. Nonetheless, would come back for sure.

My recent stay at The District was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The staff were incredibly professional, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request — big or small. The room was immaculately clean, stylishly designed, and equipped with all the comforts I could ask for. Every detail, from the crisp linens to the thoughtful amenities, made my stay feel both luxurious and relaxing. One of the standout features of my stay was the excellent customer service. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or restaurant staff, everyone went above and beyond to ensure my experience was perfect. They made me feel like a valued guest rather than just a visitor. The hotel’s facilities were top-notch — from the well-maintained fitness center to the cozy lounge and delightful dining options. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a wide variety of fresh and delicious choices. Overall, my time at The District was truly splendid. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, class, and outstanding service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Pros: The hotel boasts an excellent beach with its own exclusive area, just a meter away. Sun loungers are provided for hotel guests. The location is superb: there are restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets all within 500 meters. Food: The hotel has a restaurant that serves delicious and affordable meals (seafood pasta around 700 pesos, local beer 150 pesos for 0.3L). There's also live music in the restaurant. Room: The room was spacious, but the bed was a bit small and creaky. The air conditioning in our room was very noisy, so we asked to change rooms and the staff were very accommodating, moving us without any issues. The hotel also offers massages, entertainment, excursions, and a fire show in the evening. The staff are excellent, friendly, and kind. I would definitely return.

Mixed feelings about the hotel, it was my second time and fifth hotel on the island. It's a fine hotel but you wont feel pampered. +Perfect location if you want to stay at station 1, about 20 min walk to all the fun. The room is huge, clean and beautiful. They left good night wishes and cookies in the room every night which was a very nice touch. - check out at 11; the fruit at breakfast was given out in portions rather than buffet style which I found really strange and cheap for this type of hotel. There was no water dispencer and the water wasnt offered at the beach as well as at the restaurant when I stayed there for lunch and dinner. Even though it's offered in all the restaurants on the island and even cheaper hotels have water dispensers in the halls or rooms.

I love everything about the hotel from service, amenities, and the breakfast. Check in and check out was smooth. The hotel bed was so comfortable and it's worth all the money. Water pressure was good. AC was also good. It was even hard for us to come out of the bed because it was that comfy. It really cured our stress and it really felt a vacation like we could nap multiple times a day. Lol. Really also enjoyed the pool bar with the floating bed. The drinks were reasonable as well. Staff was very friendly and nice. Really enjoyed our stay and we will come back. Only downside was, it wasn't beachfront. You had to walk 7mins from the hotel to the beach. Wasn't really a big teal because we enjoyed the pool and overyexperience of the hotel. It sounds like you want to turn that into a polished hotel review. Here’s a cleaned-up version that keeps your tone but improves the flow and grammar: Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. I loved everything about it - from the service and amenities to the breakfast. Check-in and check-out were both smooth and hassle-free. The bed was incredibly comfortable and definitely worth the money. It was honestly hard for us to get out of bed because it was that cozy! The water pressure in the shower was great, and the air conditioning worked perfectly as well. Our stay felt like a true vacation. We were able to relax so much that we ended up taking multiple naps during the day. Lol! It really helped us unwind and forget about stress. We also really enjoyed the pool bar, especially the floating beds. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely come back. The only downside was that the hotel isn’t beachfront. You need to walk about 7 minutes to reach the beach. However, it wasn’t really a big deal for us since we enjoyed the pool and the overall hotel experience.

We were checked in an hour early. The hotel and our room were clean, the staff was friendly, and towels were changed daily. They also provide separate towels for the beach. Breakfast was a buffet style. We had no issues with hot water or water pressure. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Now, for the things we didn't like. There's a rooster next door at a local's house that loves to crow starting at 2 AM. I slept with earplugs, so the rooster didn't bother me too much. Sometimes there was noise from drilling and loud people on the street, but that's not the hotel's fault. The room was cozy, but the balcony and inside felt a bit cramped. Breakfast had fruits and a small selection of food. The breakfast could be upgraded to excellent if there was an egg station where you could get fresh omelets made. The bed linen was clean but outdated and pilled. We would still return and recommend this hotel.

Pros The hotel is in a great location. It is right on the beach. Restaurants, bars and stores were all right outside hotel. As you walk out of hotel, you will be bombarded with people selling you things: hair braiding, excursions, seafood, tattoos, bracelets, massages… etc but that’s everywhere on the beach. Hotel staff were great!  They surprised my son with a birthday song and a treat on his birthday. We didn’t even let them know it was his birthday, so they must have noticed on his passport. They took photos and videos of this nice surprise. Upon checkout, hotel also gave us personalize bracelets as thank you gifts. Swimming pool was nice and not too busy. Breakfast was not bad. Lots of options. Great breakfast view.  Cons Our room was really far. We booked for 4 but only had 2 towels in the room. Had to request for more towels as well as hand towels and floor towels as the room don’t have any. Water pressure was terrible. At some point, there was no water coming out of the faucet at all. We couldn’t shower or wash our hands. Staff were super accommodating and changed our room the next day. 2nd room was closer and much newer looking. Water pressure was good but now wifi was not working.

The whole place was simple, but still feels like a classy hotel somehow. The room wasn't big but spacious enough for a family. The ambiance is good, won't feel like a cheap hotel, yet the price is very affordable. The beds are relaxing. The whole place is clean especially the rooms. The location wasn't beach side but it's very near the beach and accessible to it, also to stores near by, especially the D'mall. It's easy to take a local ride because it's in the center, and front of the road. The breakfast has few choices, but it was fair enough for us. It was decent and usual Filipino breakfast which we really like. The staffs are nice and hospitable. We didn't encounter any staff that has bad attitude, they were really nice which makes me always leave a tip for them, even for the FO personnel. This place will definitely be one of our choices again whenever we come back to Boracay. Thank you!

We had an amazing time at the Asya Premier Suites in Boracay. The food, the Service, the staff, the Location,... Everything was well pleasing! It's located at the end of station 3 with a very nice and private beach area. The pool is located in the middle of the suites and is offering enough sunbeds for the ~20-25 suites. The staff was always very friendly and attentive. The food in the restaurant was good and the prices were also okay. The breakfast with the view of the ocean was really special. We stayed 4 nights in the presidential suite and the terrace with the private pool (with whirlpool feature) was impressive. The suite is really big, same for the comfortable bed and it was always very clean. Whenever we had a question or request, they were very fast with it. Another really good service was the daily free shuttle and pick up service at the D Mall. There was nothing to complain about, I can fully recommend the Asya Premier Suites if you want to have a unique and very private stay in Boracay, a bit off from the crowded main area at station 1 and 2. If you want to talk a walk along the beach front to station 1 or 2 it takes around 20-30mins.

the location is peaceful and has homey aesthetic vibes. It’s also just 2 minutes walk to the white beach in willys rock which is our fave spot. However, there are a couple things we don’t like: one is their slow wifi - what I mean by slow is I can’t even upload my story on fb type of slow like for real. Second is their breakfast - it’s not appetizing at all. I mean yes it’s free and this is a budget hotel but I didn’t expect it to be that way. They are portioning or limiting the food. The rice is just half lol. But I like their coffee it’s the best! Third is the rooms are not well maintained- their AC is leaking inside and I feel like there are molds in the wall. Their pool is not swimmable by adults it’s literally for toddlers.

This hotel is awesome! It truly felt like visiting grandma for summer vacation, bringing back so much nostalgia. We were very comfortable staying here. We initially stayed in a deluxe room – it was spacious and super! The decor was a bit old-fashioned, but that wasn't a drawback; it was part of its charm. Later, we extended our stay and moved to a standard room, which was also comfortable. It was smaller, of course, but had a more modern interior. However, it didn't have a fridge, which was a downside. All the rooms absolutely match the photos on the website. There's a wardrobe, hangers – everything you need to store your personal belongings. The room was very clean, which is always important to me, especially during long stays. Housekeeping and linen/towel changes are available upon request. The breakfasts were wonderful, hearty, and offered a great selection to suit all tastes. The staff were simply lovely, so kind and ready to help with any questions. The location is also excellent, tucked away (in the middle of the island) at the border of Stations 1 and 2 – you couldn't ask for a more convenient spot; everything is nearby, and there's no noise. Just a heads-up: the hotel doesn't provide tea/coffee sachets or shampoo/toothbrushes, only soap. You'll need to bring all of that with you, especially tea! Finding tea in the Philippines is generally a struggle – it's very expensive in stores and there's not much selection; they even sell it individually! 🙈 Next time I visit this country, I'll definitely bring my own. I've attached photos of the standard room and the breakfasts. I didn't even photograph the deluxe. It's great that all rooms have a balcony or terrace with a table and chairs. The only thing missing for my complete happiness was a kitchen where I could occasionally cook something when I got tired of restaurant food. In short, your place is beautiful, cozy, green, and soulful. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

The hotel is in a good localization because just few meters from Dmall, place with supermarket, restaurant, massage and stores. Also from a good part of the beach. The staffs are gentle, always smiling. But they could be more pro active saying that the transfer to go back to airport MUST to be request one day before that you are leaving the hotel, even when your fly is at night. They asked to us to find a way back to airport by yourselves. Sometimes the staff forgot to replace face towel the good part they didn't in the last day of check out, because probably the hotel should ask as to pay for it.

My husband and I were extremely happy with our stay at this accommodation in Boracay. From the very beginning, we felt genuinely welcomed, and the hospitality we received was outstanding. The location is exactly as described – very quiet and peaceful, and equipped with all the facilities presented in the listing. The room was spacious, spotless, beautifully maintained, and had a lovely fresh smell. There was no trace of any damp or musty odour; it was clearly well-ventilated and thoroughly cleaned. Everything was impeccable. Each room also has a minibar, which is very convenient if you would like to enjoy drinks or local snacks (available at an additional cost). Breakfast was very tasty, with only a few limitations. You can choose one menu and one drink per person, and not all beverages from the drinks list are included in the complimentary breakfast, but you can order extra items for an additional charge if you wish. We also had lunch at the hotel (paid separately), and the food was delicious and very fresh. The service was excellent, and the reception staff were always available and willing to help. At one point, I got sunburnt, and they kindly offered me after-sun cream free of charge to soothe my skin, which was a truly thoughtful gesture. Overall, everything was wonderful, and we would definitely recommend this place. We were genuinely disappointed that we could not find availability for more nights, as we would have loved to stay longer. The only downside was the sea directly in front of the property, as that area tends to gather a lot of seaweed, making swimming difficult. However, this is easily solved by walking a few minutes towards Station 2, where the water is much clearer and perfect for swimming.

We booked this hotel at a discounted rate through Trip.com, and the whole process was super hassle-free. They also provided welcome drinks, and the staff were very warm and accommodating throughout our stay. The room was nice and spacious, and the breakfast was decent as well. However, the Wi-Fi connection was quite weak, and there was no elevator, which made carrying luggage upstairs a bit difficult. Good thing the staff were always willing to help with the luggage. The only downside was the unpleasant smell in the bathroom, which seemed to be coming from the drainage. Although the staff tried to address the issue, the odor unfortunately did not completely go away. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay because of the excellent service and welcoming staff.

We stayed here for three nights. The first room we stayed didn’t have a window (room 106). As I am claustrophobic, I asked for a different room, the front desk staff kindly accommodated my need from the second day on. It seems that they have several rooms that don’t have a window, so if you are like me, please let them know in advance. The location is convenient as it’s close to station 2. While the majority of station 1 hotels are more secluded and quiet, this hotel was never so as it’s located at the main boat station and there are tons of tourists hanging around the property. There are lounge chairs, but those are often used by the tourists who were waiting for their boat to arrive. The breakfast was mixture of Filipino and Chinese food. Different selection everyday but still ok. The room was dated but we appreciated the fridge and air conditioner. The beach mats and towels were available for free and that was also nice. The best thing about this hotel was the staff! They tried their best to accommodate the guests’ needs. We enjoyed our stay because of them.

The building itself can be updated but for the price of our stay with breakfast included I’d say it was well worth it. The food in the restaurant was fantastic! They’re very delicious we even had dinner there 3 nights in a row. I wonder why not many people eat there more. Maybe because they get put off by the lack of variety in the buffet breakfast. I have only one comment on our shower, it needs to be fixed or changed because it's not giving a lot of shower. There is no wifi also on the whole building. It is best because we save a lot coz it's cheaper.
