Overview: Foundations of Leadership is a new dynamic leadership development program designed for professionals across various industries who are ready to step into leadership roles or enhance their existing skills. Accurate assessment of a child with acute illness or injury requires special knowledge and skills. This course is designed to provide the core-level pediatric knowledge and skills needed to properly assess and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for this high-risk patient population. In this workshop you will use easy nature journaling principles to observe and capture a plant subject, allowing plenty of scope and botanical interest for all levels of confidence. You will learn tried and tested methods with simple prompts and accessible strategies to draw a botanical subject and capture natural detail. This class will meet at the beautifully renovated Temperate House at the Auckland Wintergardens and then move to work at a secure behind-the-scenes location at the Domain Nurseryto observe specimens which have been curated for us by our expert Domain Curator team. Your workshop fee includes: • A three hour botanical art workshop • Morning tea and coffee • All materials including paper, pencils, clipboard, watercolour pencils and brushes. Last year, we raised nearly $4200 for Bike Walk Nebraska and I am thrilled to report that the money we raised led to the passing of LB 530. This law defines "vulnerable road users" and elevates the penalty for motor vehicle homicide when a vulnerable road user is involved. This year, we are excited to support two different projects: 1) We are partnering with Go Red for Women to sponsor a healthy cooking demonstration at the Expo on October 21st. Proceeds support the American Heart Association . Matthew was a brilliant cardiologist and exceptional chef who cooked for his family daily. He was passionate about healthy cooking, sustainable ingredients, great food, and of course, heart health. This seems like the perfect opportunity to honor those passions! We have committed to a $7500 sponsorship and I think we can do it! 2) A fellow physician and friend from our gym had the brilliant idea to contact the Omaha Parks Foundation for permission to install a pull-up bar along the Zorinsky Trail with a memorial plaque dedicated to Matthew. The bar will be located near the parking lot on the northeast side of 168th street. Our friend is funding a substantial portion of the cost, but we are hoping to cover the rest.
