Advanced Tree Trimmer Certification - " Recognizing Defects and Managing Decline in Trees Class " This is an in-person class. The " Recognizing Defects and Managing Decline in Trees Class " is for those who have already taken a BASIC course and are RENEWING their certification. The material is different than the Basic Class material. Those wishing to take this class for their own personal knowledge are also welcome! - All businesses or governmental agencies that advertise, offer or perform tree trimming services in Broward County are required to obtain a Tree Trimmer License . - Tree trimmers employed by these agencies are REQUIRED to have a Tree Trimmer Certification. These certifications are valid for a maximum of two years. - A CERTIFICATION and a LICENSE are two different things - both are required to trim trees. - This class will teach ADVANCED material about proper tree pruning methods according to American National Standards Institute [ANSI], and Chain Saw Safety best practices. - This class is open to industry professionals AND the general public. - More questions? Generously Sponsored by: KMS Team at Compass Welcome To Adam Ezra Group He takes a month out of each year to visit the living rooms of his fans around the country… His band and nonprofit organization RallySound host a free festival every summer that raised $151,000 for homeless veterans in 2024… He live-streamed for 500 nights in a row during the pandemic… They co-produced an album with 163 fans… If you haven’t connected with Adam Ezra Group yet, these are just a few examples to help you understand how this underground, Americana songwriter and his bandmates seem to have popped out of nowhere, establishing a connection with their fans unlike any other, and are suddenly selling out theaters throughout the Northeast. Adam Ezra will joke with you that while the “nowhere” part might be accurate, nothing has ever just “popped” for this folk musician, activist. Without resources, connections, or any kind of clue how the music world works, Ezra began playing shows over 20 years ago. When music venues wouldn’t hire him, he played bars, bookstores, fields, and parking lots, often raising money for causes he cared about; a practice that grew into his nonprofit organization RallySound. “We’d play 5 hours a night,” Adam reminisces, “more often than not, in danger of outnumbering the audiences we were playing for…” So how did this band operating so far outside the traditional music world come to win New England Music Award’s “Americana Act of the Year” in 2023? What could have happened to inspire John Oates to call Adam and invite him to begin a songwriting friendship that would lead to John producing their latest release and co-write, “Hold Each Other Now”? What happened to catch the attention of The Wallflowers, who recently invited AEG to join them on their spring tour, or SPIN Magazine who recently proclaimed, “This Independent Underground Folk Band Is Blowing Up Without Selling Out”? If you ask Adam, he’ll tell you: “One person at a time, over many years and thousands of shows, decided to turn their heads to listen. One person at a time decided to share our music with folks they care about. That’s always been our story. It’s no fairytale, but it sure makes me proud and humbled when I look out from the stage to watch theaters full of people singing along to our music.” These days you’ll find Adam and his bandmates, Corinna Smith (Fiddle), Poche Ponce (Bass), and Alex Martin (Percussion), constantly out on the road. Groundschool warmly invites you to a day of deep listening and experiential learning — a chance to deepen your connection with the intelligence of the land. In collaboration with and inspired by the 'Listening to the Land' initiative that has emerged through the Oxford Real Farming Conference, this immersive event draws on the wisdom and practice of those who work in close relationship with the land. For millennia, people on the land and Indigenous knowledge holders, have listened to the subtle language of soil, water, plants, animals and place. These relationships offer vital insights for today’s regenerative and agroecological movements. Guiding us are two experienced Landlisteners, Patrick McManaway and Brid Walsh, who will share their approaches to working with the energetic and subtle dimensions of farming and land care. Together, we will spend time on the land — tuning into its signals and rhythms — to learn how to farm and live in ways that restore balance, vitality, and reciprocity. This gathering is for anyone who feels called to deepen their relationship with the land in their life and work. Patrick MacManaway - A renowned "land whisperer," Patrick works with farmers around the world, helping them attune to the subtle energies of soil, water, crops, animals and human communities. His talk will explore how understanding and working with these flows of nature leads to greater health, vitality and harmony on the land. Event Hosts Jackie Thoms, Fraendi - Jackie is a systemic and somatic practitioner who helps individuals and groups navigate complexity, deepen dialogue and grow regenerative relationships with each other and with the living world. She will guide the day and create a welcoming, grounded space for exploration. Joanna Bowen - Joanna is a founder and director of the Groundswell Festival and is now working towards starting Groundschool, offering learning opportunities on-farm in Weston, Hertfordshire. As well as completing training in systemic constellations she has worked as an actor, director and teacher and has initiated community theatre projects and festivals.
