These workshops, which are typically valued at $50-$60 per participant, are now available to the community heroes free of charge. In the Glass Blowing Studio, individuals will work with molten glass at a scorching temperature of 2100F, shaping and manipulating it using special tools and their breath. The Flame Working Studio provides a platform for participants to work with colored and clear glass rods or tubes, using a gas-fueled torch to melt and shape their creations. The Kiln Forming Studio allows individuals to work with solid glass, cutting and layering sheet glass with glass frit and stringers to achieve their desired design. The assembled work will then be fired in an electric kiln, fusing the layers together over a 12-hour cycle. Participants will have the opportunity to select their preferred colors and will receive their finished pieces from the SiNaCa Studios gallery within five business days. One of the exciting workshops offered is the Glass Blowing (ages 8+) Implosion Bowl. This workshop allows participants to create their one-of-a-kind glass treasure by manipulating and shaping the glass in its molten state. Choose your colors and let your creativity flow as you design your masterpiece. The workshop lasts between 30 to 90 minutes, with prices ranging from $50 to $95. During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to work in the hot shop or the flame working studio. In the hot shop, you will work with molten glass at a temperature of 2100F. You can melt the glass, shape it using tools and gravity, and create unique items. SiNaCa Studios uses two types of glass in the flame working studio, including a soft soda-lime based glass for bead making and a hard glass called borosilicate for more complex sculptural and blown work. If you're interested in kiln forming, the workshop offers the opportunity to work with glass in its solid state. Cut and layer sheet glass with glass frit and stringers to create your design, and then place it in an electric kiln for fusion.
