Weirdshire presents Raymond Macdonald | The Victory
Arts
Weirdshire is thrilled to announce that the highly-anticipated performance by Raymond Macdonald, a jazz and improvised music legend, will be hosted in the beautiful city of Hereford. Raymond Macdonald is renowned for his collaborations with esteemed artists such as Jim O'Rourke, David Byrne, Marilyn Crispell, Gunther Sommers, Lloyd Swanton, and many more. Followers of Weirdshire will also be delighted to know that Raymond played a pivotal role in the Ivor Cutler tribute a few years ago, titled "Return To Y’Hup – The World Of Ivor Cutler Citizen Bravo, Raymond MacDonald & Friends," a must-listen for those who haven't yet had the pleasure. MacDonald's mastery of his craft is truly awe-inspiring, as he showcases his impeccable skills through pitch-perfect playing, remarkable variation, and the breathtaking technique of circular breathing. Renowned publication All About Jazz describes his music as intensely captivating, surprising, and beautiful, while Jazz Wise recognizes the rarity of such articulate music in any genre. The performance will be supported by rushes/esp, a local improvisation group known for their unique sound and regular residency at The Barrels. Join us at The Victory, located at 88 Saint Owen's Street, Hereford, HR1 2QD, on March 12, 2024, to witness this extraordinary musical event. Tickets for this not-to-be-missed experience are priced at £9.38.
