About The EventPaul Kormašov is an Estonian painter who lives and works in Berlin. The current exhibition is his 11th solo project, presenting only his newest works, completed in the past five months. Mainly known in his native country for large-scale, highly detailed abstract works with occasional figurative features, his current show is taking a different direction, presenting mostly smaller works with clearer motifs. Staying loyal to his characteristically colourful approach, the artist has portrayed intimate day-to-day moments, the silent pains of inner growth, closeness, tears an d moments of sheer bliss. It’s a colourful, journal-like insight into a period of change, with each entry offering an independent world of its own. About The HostPaul Kormašov (b. 1989) is a freelance painter. He graduated from Pallas University of Applied Sciences (Tartu, Estonia) in 2013 and relocated to Berlin in 2015. His main style of work is colourful abstractionism with occasional figurative features – such as industrial landscapes and other elements of nature and life in the city. Kormašov has previously held ten private exhibitions, most recent of them being “Through the Dark” in April 2024 at law firm Sorainen in Tallinn, Estonia. Strategy for Combining Text and Movement with Dani Brown ***This workshop is 3 days and includes 15 hours of instruction. This intensive will get sweaty and loud, it will get creepy and glorious, delicious and unnerving. A big part of my artistic practice is concerned with the potential dimensions of combining text and movement, and how uncanny juxtapositions between physicality, voice and textual content function to bring about a complexity of poetics in the eye of the viewer. Every day will begin with an intense physical and vocal preparation followed by practices to introduce my strategies for combining text and movement. Participants will develop monologue material with a strategic combination of voice and physical quality. The main objective of this intensive is not only that participants gain practical experience developing text and movement combinations, but also to inspire their own practice, research and development of strategies in this area. About this courseThis is a painting workshop with the goal of teaching people how to create paintings using either oil colors or acrylics. The total subject lessons consists of around 23 lessons that last 2.5 hours each. You can join at any time during the course. On each lesson the first part will be about theory and exercise and the second one about canvas time. Each participant will have the chance to work on canvas and start making paintings as artworks. All materials are provided by us. Each lesson has a subject. We do not follow a particular order, and every lesson is actually unique and many times personalized. This means that every time the attendess will have to do something new and different. You do not have to paint on canvas and with the mentioned art materials, you can also choose to use any of your wish. Most of the observations and exercises work well with all art materials. It is suitable for beginners and or even professionals who want to rationalize the canvas painting process. It is being hosted by the visual artist Miltos Despoudis. How much does it cost?First lesson try-out costs 15€. You can do that only once. 4 x Lessons Packet(2.5 hours each) cost 120€. In order to participate you need to prepay 4 lessons. You can pay either by cash or card at the event. 1 x Lesson (2.5 hours) costs 38€. Materials: A ll of the materials are included within the ticket reservation except the canvases. You can paint anything on a canvas we will provide you free but if you want to keep the canvas you will have to purchase it at the same cost we bought it. Canvases range from 2 to 5 Euros.
