China's Lunar and Mars Exploration | Hong Kong Space Museum
Sep 27, 2024–Mar 24, 2025 (UTC+8)
Hong Kong
From dreaming of setting foot on the moon to looking forward to moving to Mars, human beings have always looked up to the stars and dreamed of soaring in the vast universe. China is gradually realizing its aerospace dream of exploring space. It has successfully independently developed artificial satellites, launch vehicles, manned spacecraft, and space stations. It has also carried out missions and conducted scientific research in space, expanding people's understanding of the earth and the universe. From the legendary Jade Rabbit that made medicine on the moon, to the "Jade Rabbit" lunar rover that set foot on the moon during China's lunar exploration project; from the fire god Zhurong in ancient mythology, to the man who successfully left a mark on the surface of Mars during the Mars exploration mission. "Zhurong" Mars Rover - China is gradually realizing its dream of deep space exploration, and at the same time building the future. The exhibition introduces the important achievements and future prospects of China's lunar and Mars exploration missions. Visitors can appreciate the original large-scale models of the "Yutu" lunar rover and the "Zhurong" Mars rover, understand their structures and functions, and learn about China's outstanding achievements in aerospace development.
CHILDREN OF THE DUST | Hong Kong
Oct 25, 2024–Feb 8, 2025 (UTC+8)
Hong Kong
This exhibition aims to create a quiet refuge where art is a temporary escape from the collective depression of the audience. Each work in the exhibition is made of natural materials, from minerals, dust, soil, to ice and fossils. In the exhibition, geological changes across a wide time dimension are juxtaposed with rapid and drastic social changes. Echoes from "deep time" soothe our fatigue in the daily hustle and bustle. The word "dust" in the title of the exhibition refers to the basic components of matter, and "sons of dust" comes from a well-known theory: the elements that make up the human body and matter come from supernova explosions. In other words, we, like the dust, ice and metal used in the works, are fragments of the vast history of the universe. We are all children of dust.

Susumu Kamijo: Table for Us | PERROTIN HONG KONG
Nov 16, 2024–Jan 4, 2025 (UTC+8)
Hong Kong
In Susumu Kamijo’s latest exhibition, Table for Us at Perrotin Hong Kong, the artist steps sideways into the realm of still life, only to transform the genre with a sleight of hand that feels at once candid and elusive. Known for his playful, abstract paintings of poodles and other sentient forms, Kamijo here shifts gears into a more intimate space, where florals and creatures coalesce in arrangements that hover between fantasy and familiarity. What appears to be a traditional still life at first blush—Morandi-esque vases, plates of food, large goldfish with petal-like fins bulging in their bowls—quickly dissolves into into riddles of texture and composition, pulsating with a strange vitality, even a glint of poison in Summer Blossoms (2024).
Ruth AsawaDoing Is Living | David Zwirner
Nov 19, 2024–Feb 22, 2025 (UTC+8)
Hong Kong
I study nature, and a lot of these forms come from observing plants. I really look at nature and I just do it as I see it. I draw something on paper. And then I am able to take a wire line and go into the air and define the air without stealing it from anyone. —Ruth Asawa . David Zwirner is pleased to announce an exhibition of sculptures and works on paper by American artist Ruth Asawa (1926–2013) at the gallery’s Hong Kong location. Relentlessly experimental across a range of mediums, Asawa is known for her works built on simple, repeated gestures that accumulate into complex compositions. The artist moved effortlessly between abstract and figurative registers in both two and three dimensions, creating a vast and varied oeuvre that, despite its visual heterogeneity, reflects above all her belief in the total integration of artistic practice and family life. The first solo presentation of Asawa’s work in Greater China, the exhibition provides an overview of the artist’s wide-ranging practice, focusing in particular on her affinity for the natural world, which in turn provided a constant source of inspiration in her art.
Scott KahnOnce in a Blue Moon | David Zwirner
Nov 19, 2024–Feb 22, 2025 (UTC+8)
Hong Kong
David Zwirner is pleased to present an exhibition by American artist Scott Kahn at the gallery’s Hong Kong location. Once in a Blue Moon will feature a body of new paintings that focuses on different types of full moons—with its myriad connotations—as their central compositional element. Also on view will be a selection of landscapes from throughout Kahn’s career, several of which include the moon, often glimpsed in the background, materializing as a sort of omen for the scene laid out beneath. Viewed together, these works exemplify the artist’s distinctive approach to the genre. This will be Kahn’s first solo presentation in Asia and his first with the gallery since his representation was announced in May 2024.
Rooted in his everyday life and experiences, Kahn’s enigmatic landscapes, portraits, and dreamscapes blend real and surreal elements. The artist has remained committed to a figurative mode of expression over the course of more than five decades, using a distinctive formal language to achieve a nuanced and poetic rendition of the simultaneous splendor and mundanity of the world around him. His surfaces are meticulously constructed according to precise geometries and chromatic and spatial relationships, wherein the artist employs perspective and light to establish an illusory sense of depth that underscores the resonances imparted by the recurring cast of people, places, and symbols. Kahn’s works evidence his individual point of view while opening out onto universal themes, offering viewers a conduit through which to access a wide range of emotions.
Howardena Pindell Deep Sea, Deep Space | White Cube Hong Kong
Nov 20, 2024–Jan 8, 2025 (UTC+8)
Hong Kong
White Cube is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new paintings by American artist Howardena Pindell. With a career spanning over five decades, Pindell lends a dynamic materiality to the canons of painting. Drawing from a profound childhood memory, the circular motif has become one of the most enduring elements in Pindell’s body of work, manifesting in diverse forms such as ellipses, perforations and hole-punched dots. In the late 1960s, the artist pioneered her iconic spray-painting technique, in which the motif is atomised and accrued, resulting in generative stipples of light and colour. This exhibition marks the inaugural presentation of Pindell’s work since the gallery announced representation of the artist in May 2024.
