Latest Events in Kasama(March Updated)

During the annual festival, 8,500 azaleas bloom in brilliant colors of red, white, pink and purple, bringing endless joy to the viewer. During the prime viewing time of Golden Week, visitors can enjoy the charming sight of the low mountain areas being dyed a brilliant red by the azaleas. Various activities are also held during the festival, including open-air tea parties, folk entertainment and performances by traditional Japanese orchestras.

Ibaraki Prefecture's largest ceramics festival is held annually from April 29th to May 5th at the Kasama Art Forest Park event plaza. Over 200 artists and ceramic artists participate, showcasing their work at their booths, which also house a restaurant run by ceramic artists. This restaurant is itself a well-known part of the fire festival. Fun activities for children are also held, making it a family-friendly event where the whole family can enjoy the art and food.

The Kasama Chrysanthemum Festival, established in 1908, is one of Japan's longest-running festivals. Approximately 10,000 chrysanthemums in various forms—such as upright, cascading, multi-petaled balls, and bonsai—are displayed throughout the festival grounds, starting at the main venue at Kasama Inari Shrine. A blend of white, pink, and other colors fills the space.
