FUN makes this a FUNdraiser. All skill levels are welcome. There are five team divisions for this tournament based on skill rating: Men’s Doubles (3.5 and above) Men’s Doubles (3.4 and below) Women’s Doubles (3.5 and above) Women’s Doubles (3.4 and below) Mixed Doubles (all skill levels) Each division will consist of 14 teams who will compete in six games of round-robin pool play, using rally scoring to 15 by two points to win*. The top two teams in each division, by record/tiebreaker, will play in a championship game, using regular scoring to 11points. Each team division will start at a set time (TBD) and play games continuously until all games are completed. Estimated start times for each will be determined based on the number of registered teams and the following: AM-All Women’s Doubles Mid-day – Mixed Doubles PM – All Men’s Doubles Warm-ups begin 30 minutes before the estimated start time of each team division pool play. Teams will start at their designated time and there will be only a few minutes between each game. Each team will be notified of their game schedule. First and second place medals will be awarded after championship. * The number of games of play and scoring is subject to change and will depend on the number of teams that register per division. Dinking Contest You think you can DINK? We are having a dinking contest to see who can complete the most consecutive dinks in the kitchen with their partner. For an extra $10, you can add this to your registration. A prize will be awarded to the team that has the most dinks. More details to come! The Town of Hempstead’s Camp ANCHOR (Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps through Organized Recreation) is a year-round recreation program operated by the Town of Hempstead, acting through its Department of Parks & Recreation. The program is dedicated to children and adults with special needs who reside in the Town of Hempstead. The Town of Hempstead's Camp ANCHOR Program provides programs after school and on Saturdays in various locations throughout the township during the fall, winter, and spring. A six-week summer day camp program located in Lido Beach serves over 700 children and adults with special needs. The ANCHOR Program Fund, Inc . is a nonprofit charity, exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Squirrel Flower is the witch rock project of Ella Williams. Currently based in Chicago, by way of Iowa and Boston, Ella crafts songs from silk threads, weaving layers of vocal arrangements and sparse, sometimes distorted guitar with sentient observations about internal and external worlds. LAAND (Lawrence All-Ages Noise Destination) is a cooperatively-run arts organization in Lawrence, KS. Our aim is to create an open, supportive, and culturally vibrant space and foster a DIT (do-it-together) community through music concerts, experiential learning, and volunteer opportunities for all ages. We strive to create meaningful and memorable events that are unique to Lawrence. Since 2017, we have been hosting music events primarily at the White Schoolhouse in North Lawrence. Van Buren Youth Fair offers an opportunity to connect in-school learning with real world experiences and gives the youth a small portion of what 4-H has to offer. This three-hour class will begin with basic stitch samples on a cardstock template and then move into design and preparation of the final artwork. Instruction will also cover composition and color, pre-punching holes in stages, how to recover from mistakes and paper collapse and simple framing options.
