Get ready for a truly special night of authentic, award-winning blues! The incredible Errol Linton Band is set to bring their unique, captivating sound to The Old Brewery Store in Faversham on Thursday, 13th November 2025. Fronted by the charismatic and hugely talented Errol Linton, a three-time winner of the British Blues Award for Best Harmonica Player, this band is a genuine force to be reckoned with. Errol’s deep, soulful vocals and mesmerizing harmonica playing are at the heart of their sound, drawing comparisons to blues legends while maintaining a distinctly original voice. The Errol Linton Band recently made waves by winning the prestigious UK Blues Challenge in 2023 , earning them the honour of representing the UK at the renowned International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA , in early 2024. This experience solidified their standing on the global blues scene, showcasing their vibrant blend of Chicago blues, reggae, and jazz to an international audience. They’ve graced stages from Glastonbury to Ronnie Scott’s, earning critical acclaim and a dedicated following for their electrifying live performances. Don’t miss your chance to witness one of the UK’s most exciting and respected blues acts, fresh from their Memphis journey, in the intimate setting of The Old Brewery Store. This promises to be an evening of raw talent, heartfelt music, and undeniable rhythm. Book your tickets now for what’s sure to be a sell-out show! ‘The Greatest British Blues Performing Artist’ Cerys Matthews Ever since John Walters declared Errol Linton the ‘future of British Blues’ back in 1993 this Brixton born gentleman has been plying his trade and perfecting his art at home and across the world. Over the decades Errol has collaborated and played with many musical greats from the blues world and beyond including Bo Diddley, Tony Allen, Abram Wilson, Doctor John, Screaming Jay Hawkins and most recently US guitar supremo Joe Bonamassa. Linton contributes the haunting harmonica on ‘Lookout Man’ from Joe’s 2021 Grammy nominated album ‘Royal Tea’ recorded at Abbey Rd. Errol has produced several albums himself; the last two studio albums in collaboration with Brassdog records are his first on Vinyl. ‘Packing My Bags’ (‘Chess Records meets Studio One’) recorded at world famous Dean St Studios and ‘No Entry’ recorded at the equally iconic Toerag Studios have been great critical successes for Errol and his band. After 30 years as a singer, songwriter and the world’s best harmonica player Errol and his exceptional band are still amongst the hardest working groups in Britain. ‘The tremendous King of the UK Blues’ ( Arcadianegra, Spain) perform shows around the capital at least 4 times a week making The Errol Linton band the hottest, happening gig you are likely to go to. As well as sell out shows at the Jazz Cafe & Nells this year the band have headlined many music festivals over the years including Cerys Matthews ‘Good Life Festival’ in Wales. Errol’s band comprises some of the music industry’s most sought after & respected musicians. Suffice to say, in the words of author & journalist Garth Cartwright; ‘that Errol Linton leads the best blues band in Britain. Or, perhaps that should read, the best band in Britain.’ ROCKIN ROOTS EVENTS THE OLD BREWERY STORE MILL PLACE FAVERSHAM, KENT ME13 7DY United Kingdom Information Source: ROCKIN' ROOTS EVENTS | eventbrite

CURTIS SALGADO | The Old Brewery Store

Faversham
Concerts
The legendary Curtis Salgado, winner of eleven Blues Music Awards and the coveted B.B. King Entertainer Of The Year award, brings his sound to The Old Brewery Store in Faversham on Friday, 16th January 2026. BUY TICKETS Known for his powerful, soulful vocals and masterful harmonica playing, Curtis Salgado is a true giant of the blues world. DownBeat Magazine calls his songwriting skills “an impressive gift,” and Billboard hails his music as “inspired and powerful.” His storied career is the stuff of legend; he famously inspired John Belushi’s “Blues Brothers” character and has been hailed by critics as “one of the most soulful, honest singers ever.” For this special UK show, he will be joined by the incredible Giles Robson Band, a perfect match with their high-energy, harmonica-driven sound. But that’s not all—we’re also thrilled to welcome very special guests, two of the UK’s finest blues talents: the brilliant guitarist Mississippi MacDonald and the superb vocalist Robbin Kaspalis. This is a rare opportunity to see a living blues legend on an intimate stage, backed by some of the best musicians in the business. An evening of pure, authentic blues and soul awaits! Don’t miss Curtis Salgado and the Giles Robson Band, with special guests Mississippi MacDonald & Robbin Kaspalis, live in Faversham. Book your tickets now! Whatever songs Curtis Salgado brings to the table are going to have his personal soul stamp on them. It’s the singer’s magic bullet, the key element that stirs listeners and sets Salgado apart as one of the most riveting performers on stage today. Born in 1954, Salgado grew up in Eugene, Oregon with music all around him. His parents’ vast music collection included everything from Fats Waller to Ray Charles, and his older brother and sister turned him on to the soul and blues of Wilson Pickett and Muddy Waters at an early age. He attended a Count Basie performance when he was 13 and decided then and there that music was his calling. After getting his hands on a harmonica, Curtis began devouring the blues of Little Walter and Paul Butterfield, and taught himself to play. By his early 20s he was already making a name for himself in Eugene’s bar scene, first as the vocalist/harmonica player of The Nighthawks, and later as co-leader of The Robert Cray Band. Salgado quickly developed into a player and singer of remarkable depth, with vocal and musical influences including Otis Redding, O.V. Wright, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson I and II, Lightnin’ Hopkins and Howlin’ Wolf. In 1977, comedian/actor John Belushi was in Eugene filming Animal House. During downtime from production, Belushi caught a typically ferocious Salgado performance and introduced himself during a break. Once Salgado started sharing some of his blues knowledge, a fast friendship grew. Salgado spent hours playing old records for Belushi, teaching him about blues and R&B. Belushi soaked up the music like a sponge and used his new awareness to portray “Joliet” Jake Blues in The Blues Brothers, first as a skit on Saturday Night Live, then a best-selling record album (which was dedicated to Curtis) and finally as a major motion picture (Cab Calloway’s character in the film was named Curtis as an homage). Once Salgado joined forces with his friend Robert Cray and began playing together as The Robert Cray Band, he found himself sharing stages with many of his heroes, including Muddy Waters, Bobby Bland, Albert Collins and Bonnie Raitt. After Salgado and Cray parted ways in 1982, Curtis went on to front Roomful Of Blues, singing and touring with them from 1984 through 1986. Back home in Oregon, he formed a new band, Curtis Salgado & The Stilettos, and was once again tearing it up on the club scene. He honed his band to a razor’s edge before releasing his debut in 1991 on the JRS label. After recordings for Rhythm Safari and Lucky Records, Salgado signed withShanachie Records in 1999, releasing four critically acclaimed albums. Salgado’s Alligator Records debut, Soul Shot , came out in 2012 to widespread critical acclaim. Blues Revue said Salgado’s music is “triumphant, joyful, blues-soaked R&B” and declared him to be “one of the most soulful, honest singers ever.” He followed up with The Beautiful Lowdown in 2016 and Rough Cut , the potent, stripped-down acoustic album (with guitarist Alan Hager) in 2018. The albums collectively earned Salgado multiple Blues Music Awards—for B.B. King Entertainer Of The Year, Soul Blues Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Soul Blues Male Artist Of The Year. This course is designed to get you as involved as possible - this includes identifying, picking and tasting a range of wild species that will be found on the day. There will also be samples of wild food for everyone to get stuck into! The focus with all of our workshops is on the 4 'F's of Foraging: Fungi, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage . We aim for an array of these elements on every session we run (weather and season permitting!) Event sold out or can't make this date? Head to www.foragebox.co.uk/workshops or view our Eventbrite profile to browse all available sessions. What To Expect Our 'Taster' events are our shortest workshops, open to anyone looking for a brief but informative introduction to the wonderful world of foraging. No formal food is provided, but there will still be plenty of tasting along the way. DURATION: 2 hours We like to keep some elements a surprise for the day, but here is what you can expect from your foraging workshop: a short introduction regarding the safety and format of the day discussions around foraging tips, safety, ethics, etiquette, sustainability and the law a circular walking route taking in different growing environments around the site. Expect a route of around 2-3km predominantly on footpaths a closer look at edible wild species and any poisonous lookalikes by a professional forager a chance to slow the pace of modern life down, meet new people and immerse yourself in a soul-nourishing activity, reconnecting with nature and discovering new flavours small tasters of wild food - this may even include freshly-picked items straight from the wild. our workshops are run in a welcoming and informal fashion, where attendee questions and contributions are encouraged after the event, you will be sent a follow-up email containing a list of everything we found on the day. Please do not expect photos or descriptions in this email - it is purely a list for reference purposes, and we find it helps people do further research in their own time. Please note: as with most of our events, this is an educational experience and not a 'basket-filling' session . At the end of the session, there may be a small selection of our wild products and workshop vouchers available to purchase (card and cash accepted). This is a recent element of our events after enough attendees made enquiries about it - there is no pressure to buy anything having already bought tickets but sometimes people want a souvenir to take with them! Please speak to your tutor about this at the end. Who Is This Workshop For? These events are perfect for everyone - families, bushcrafters and dog-walkers alike! Nobody is made to feel out of their depth or silly for not knowing what certain things are, so these events suit absolute novices to more experienced hobby foragers alike. We strongly believe that foraging is for everyone , with all demographics welcome, regardless of age, ability, gender or ethnicity. Please read our FAQs further down the page to find out about dogs, children and mobility. IMPORTANT INFORMATION KIT LIST: What to bring with you Attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport to get to the destination. EXACT MEETING POINT: In the car park, by the entrance to the footpath Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tF7N8wq1WtVncPbXA What3Words: https://w3w.co/blubber.finishers.pave PARKING: There is plenty of parking at this venue but it may be subject to pay & display fees. Do not block access or gates. TOILETS: Toilets are not immediately available at this venue. Please arrive well in time for the start of the workshop, allowing extra time for the distance from your parked car to the meeting point and any toilet trips - we don't tend to wait for late-comers! Your foraging guide for the day should arrive on site at least an hour before the start and will start gathering the group together approximately 15 minutes before the official start time. If you cannot find your tutor around that time, there is a chance you are looking in the wrong place, so please check the event information for the exact location (not the postcode) Signage can sometimes be limited, so keep an eye out for anyone with a foraging basket! Minimum number of guests for this event to go ahead: 8 people PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide guests with a contact telephone number for your tutor. This is for privacy purposes but also because it is impractical to do so - your tutor simply wouldn't be able to take a call whilst with a group. If you need to get in contact, please use the email function via eventbrite or our website . Start getting excited!
