Cannstatter Volksfest | Stuttgart
Celebration
Wasen, the largest folk festival in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and the world's second-largest beer festival (after Oktoberfest in Munich), is commonly known locally as "Wasen." It will celebrate its 179th edition in 2026 and attracts approximately 4 million visitors annually. A once-every-four-year "double celebration" will be held concurrently with Volksfest: September 27 – October 4, 2026, featuring Baden-Württemberg's largest agricultural, food, and agro-forestry technology exhibition. Held every four years, the 2026 edition coincides with this double celebration, offering an enhanced experience.
**Main Event Highlights** **Festival Tents** Seven large beer tents (such as Göckelesmaier, Dinkelacker, Wasenwirt, Grandls Hofbräu, etc.) offer 1L "Maß" tumblers of beer, roast chicken (Hähnchen), roast pork knuckle, and pretzels, with live bands playing Bavarian/Swabian folk songs and pop hits. **Amusement Rides** Over 300 rides: Ferris wheel, roller coaster, freefall, carousel; the classic 60-meter-high Ferris wheel is a festival landmark, offering panoramic views of Stuttgart.
