The hotel is built around mangroves and the monkeys could be seen all over the hotel which always made our day. It has an authentic feel and it was nice to see locals in the water harvesting seaweed and Maasai on the beach. There was a Maasai show one evening which was great fun to watch. The room had everything we needed and the bathroom / dressing area was huge. We were located near the lobby and there were no problems with noise. The hotel is beautiful and we were honestly awed as we walked around the hotel. We spent a lot of time on the jetty on the days we stayed in resort and had no problems finding sunbeds even when arriving at around 10. The jetty bar is great and a lovely place to spend an evening. It was windy at times but didn’t impact things too much. Admittedly we found the main restaurant did lack variety compared to other all inclusive hotels we stayed at but we always found something to eat. There is another restaurant on site that was payable and we visited twice for dinner while we were there. Fantastic service and food both times. The lobster (around $25) was huge. Staff are great and can’t do enough to help. We had several excursions during our stay which we all enjoyed and spent some time in Paje which is a short taxi ride from the hotel at a cost of around $20. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Zanzibar and this hotel!

I can’t thank you enough Killian , our guardian angel at the reception desk , but also Ewelina the friendly owner , Abdallah and Philip the efficient and cheerful front office managers , Emmanuel , Rahma, Mona , Nathalie , and all my dearest ones as well : Joan, Hosiana, Amina , Lulu , Juma, Mandela , Obama ,Souleimane. Pretty Olga ,Elizabeth , Glory at the SPA . So I’d finished a 4 week tenting safari ( it did end at the northern beaches) but I decided to stay longer and while I did pay a few extra $$$ it was the perfect end to my holiday. I booked a pool room and was in pool room 2. And it was absolutely perfect. The room had awesome aircon, Netflix and Alexa, robes & slippers, daily water & tea, coffee. There were a few extra things in the room for purchase if wanted. The pool was a winner ( I never used the main pool) The overall grounds had plenty of spots to chill and the whole time I was there which was 3 nights I think I saw a maximum 12 people ( very quiet ) The pontoon was a nice place to also relax and you can have drinks out there while swimming in the pool at the end. It is a distance from anywhere else so expect that unless you pay for transportation you won’t be leaving. I paid for an optional snorkeling tour via the reception ( paid at the end when I left ) it was ok - I got a private tour by myself other than that I just relaxed. There are a few other tours that they offer but I just wanted to stay put really enjoy doing nothing. I did go for a walk along the beach but it was very rocky unlike the northern beaches but the pontoon you could take the stairs down into the water and swim Breakfast included ( pick from the menu and order what you want- it was nice- I ordered eggs, fruit & Nutella pancakes ) - while I didn’t have lunch - as breakfast was sufficient I did pay for dinner which was somewhat normal things available but the pasta dish wasn’t the best but the burger was fine. This hotel was everything that I was expecting. My own pool ( that I used a lot….) just relaxing. I felt safe and yes I was solo in this nice romantic pool room. Not over crowded and a great way to end my holiday. The resort can organise transfers but I had already organised this a couple days earlier with my tour company a private transfer which only cost $40 usd each way on the way back to stone town I got my driver to stop at Jozani Forest to see the red Columbus monkeys. Now to save a couple $$ that might be a good option as the resort does offer a similar tour I just paid my driver $10 extra to make the stop rather than $95 with the resort I would stay again

Big thank you to the hotel team, Omar and co! The personal is very helpful, always smiling and kind. The garden suites doesn’t get air condition it is so important in the bed room, it was a nightmare for sleeping. No fridge also, water very hot each day. The beach has got a lot of algae but it was very quiet. We had only breakfast at hotel, thinking that we could eat near the hotel but nothing around, and the hotel did not propose a good price to have the half pension. It is better to take half pension before arriving there. Also please note that you will pay 5 usd per person and per night for tax on check-out, like a 5 stars hotel!!! Whereas Indigo beach is only a 3 stars hotel, it should be only 4 usd. The responsable of the hotel was not understandable.
