Before returning to Urumqi from my self-driving tour in Xinjiang, I stayed in Shawan Town for one night just to taste the authentic big plate chicken. The hotel I stayed in was right next to the national highway, with a food street nearby and chicken restaurants along the way. Although it was already dinner time, it seemed that the locals would have dinner very late, and almost all restaurants were empty. Finally, I found this restaurant and ordered the non-spicy big plate chicken, which was said to be braised with three yellow chickens. It tasted good, and I also fried some cabbage and ordered flower rolls. The three of us were very full.
