On the way to Wuliangshan Cherry Blossom Valley, we passed Nanjian, which is the hometown of Chinese Tiaocai. The restaurant is not far from the road, and there is a large yard for parking. We happened to catch the restaurant holding a banquet, which was very lively. The Tiaocai performance was really wonderful, and the young man was amazing. The two of us ordered three dishes, ham papaya chicken (slightly sour), jasmine fried eggs, and fried pea sprouts, which are all local specialties. The taste is OK, and the service is very good.

去无量山樱花谷路过南涧，南涧是中国跳菜之乡。饭店就离马路不远，有很大的院子方便停车，我们正赶上饭店办宴席，非常热闹。跳菜表演着实精彩，小伙子太厉害了。我们两个人点了三个菜，火腿木瓜鸡（微酸），茉莉花煎蛋，炒豌豆苗，这都是当地的特色菜。味道还可以，服务很不错。

&ldquo;南涧跳菜&rdquo;很有名，旅行社也把它列为行程中的一个重点项目，大伙也是满怀着希望来看跳菜。旅行社安排的这家&ldquo;跳菜人家&rdquo;，看似场面宏大，实则形象大于内容，菜比前几顿安排的团餐差了太多，跳菜节目也就一男两女三个人，草草了事，现场也没几桌客人，就在过道上表演，场面混乱，客人们都站在过道上，不愿挤上去的也看不到什么。总之吃也不好吃，看也不好看，南涧跳菜可惜了啊！

 游览过樱花谷和灵宝山，我们沿西景线（G214国道）前去南涧县城尝南涧跳菜。北行16公里，在宝华镇虎街村有个石洞寺，山崖高处挂着石洞寺三个红色大字。寺如其名，石洞寺由若干个在山壁上凿出洞窟，修上门楣构成的小庙构成，供奉着不同的仙佛。以这种形式营建寺庙难度比平地筑殿要大，民众的虔诚之心可鉴。 在南涧县城里有不少家跳菜饭馆。傍晚，我们到了南涧城边的&ldquo;跳菜人家&rdquo;。菜是南涧彝族的地方特色，所谓跳菜，说的是跳着上菜的欢快形式。着彝族服装的一位小伙和一位姑娘，由姑娘引桌领舞，小伙头顶托盘或双手举托盘，扭腰摆胯，跳跃腾挪，把菜肴送上桌。食客们各个笑逐颜开，用手机和相机忙不迭地拍照摄像。当小伙口衔三层叠放的木桌，上面放着菜品，再次跳过来时，才是跳菜的高光时刻。木桌加上菜肴少说也有二三十斤，叼在嘴里，还要扭摆弹跳，给食客们带来不尽的喜悦和惊叹。据说跳菜者中牙齿早脱的有之，不知他们是否心酸无奈多过兴奋欢愉。无论如何，这种地方传统习俗还会延续下去。

The wooden table plus dishes are less said to be 20 or 30 pounds, and they are in their mouths, and they have to twist and swing, bringing endless joy and wonder to the diners. It is said that some of the jumpers have their teeth removed early, and I wonder if they are more sad than excited and happy. Anyway, this local tradition will continue.
